Time to DOUBLE up!! 2 for 1 Pre-TR!!!!!!! TRIP REPORT HAS STARTED!!!!!!!

But of course!:3dglasses

AGGGRRRRRRRR! pirate:

Or I could always use one of my snacks as a funnel cake in MK. That would be good too. This trip is really gonna mess up the mini-diet I've been on. I'm going to try to take pics of everything we eat..... if DW doesn't make fun of me.

Vacations are NOT for diets. Tim, pul-eeeeze!

Eat the funnel cake! and take a picture!

I pulled the trigger on the rental car last night. I ended up getting it for $175. I thought I could do better but I was getting scared with what I started seeing on the Alamo site. I booked it through Priceline and got it for $19 a day + taxes=$175. Not bad. If I booked directly through Alamo I could of gotten it for $199, so I saved another $24. Plus the car is from Alamo(when doing name your best deal on priceline, you don't know what company it is going to be from)

Checked the shipping info on my costume and it is 'Out for delivery'!!!! I will have it in hand today! Juliana and I are going to go to the dollar store and see what type of fun stuff we can find to bring with us! Hopefully they have some Disney Halloween items I can buy.:goodvibes I'll let you know if I find anything.

All3OfUs;) are getting very excited. We can't believe we are only a few days away!!!!!:woohoo:

True... nothing like a vacation to ruin a great diet!!! I'm down to around 203. It fluctuates around 201-205. I'm trying to get (& stay) under 200. Mel says she can really see it in my face. My double chin has disappeared(according to herLOLOL)

I few summers ago, at my highest, I was 237lbs. I can't say I've been on a diet for that long, but since June I have tried to cut portions, stop eating junk, and just be a little more mindful what I'm eating. From June till now, I've lost about 10-12lbs. Now if I can just get rid of my pot belly. LOL:rotfl2: (although now my jeans are falling off my waist)

we did a dollar tree run this weekend. there wasn't much disney halloween- i think i only found a disney halloween coloring book- but, we loaded up on glowsticks and glowwands of all kinds.
i also found a bunch of interchangable princess jewelry- there was a wand, bracelet, necklace, and rings- each had 3-5 pieces with princess heads that you can change out.
also saw the usual disney crayons and puzzles.

This trip was unsuccessful. :sad2: We went to Target as well... no dice. They had tons for Halloween.. nothing Disney. DW is off tomorrow... we will try K-Mart and (the dreaded) Walmart. If we can't find anything we will just buy some Halloween window clings and then I'll run to HD for some Mickey Heads!

My costume came... yup I'm a Jack Sparrow wannabe.:rotfl: Now I need to find all the pictures I can of him to try to get down the look. Heck, I might have to go rent Pirates and watch it with DW tomorrow night.

I just saw this link on MSN. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/33070308/ns/travel-family

NEW YORK - Disney is offering a free day's admission to 1 million guests who complete a day of volunteer work next year.

The "Give a Day, Get a Disney Day" program will provide certified volunteers with a one-day ticket to any park at Disneyland in Anaheim, Calif., or Walt Disney World near Orlando, Fla., in 2010.

Would-be volunteers must register online with Disney and must be residents of the U.S., Canada or Puerto Rico to be eligible for the free admission.

Disney is partnering with HandsOn Network, a clearinghouse for volunteer opportunities, to connect people with projects and to certify that the work was done.

"We are trying to inspire 1 million people to volunteer in their communities and we're inspiring them to do that by giving them a free day at a Disney park," Jay Rasulo, chairman of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, said in a phone interview with The Associated Press.

Rasulo called the promotion "very timely," citing the increased needs of nonprofits in the weak economy, as well as President Barack Obama's national volunteering initiative.

Duncan Dickson, who teaches theme park management at the University of Central Florida's Rosen School of Hospitality Management in Orlando, said the volunteer initiative is "a smart marketing move."

Dickson said Disney will get good buzz for encouraging volunteerism plus free publicity from the nonprofits that benefit. And even when theme parks let people in for free, they make their money back in other ways, Dickson said.

"You make a lot of money in popcorn and T-shirts and other things," Dickson said.

Woo! Your costume came! Are you even going to put on the eyeliner like Capt. Jack? You gotta get his look down to the tee! :thumbsup2

Wow, 1 million people! That's awesome! But how will they know that they really did the volunteer work?

I think they/you have to pre-register with an approved organization. Then once you do the work they give you a certificate... or something like that...:confused3

1. Congrats on getting (almost) down to under 200! That's a healthy goal. Now go forth and eat funnel cakes at Disney. Then come back and return with a "No Cokes, No Donuts" attitude. You can also hang out with Sandy and gang until January, and be guilted into following their lofty examples.

2. You got your costume! OK, I simply cannot wait to see pictures! I'm sure you'll look dashing!! Especially sans ddoouubbllee chin.

3. Hmmmm... a pre-approved org. I'm not sure I like that approach. It will be very interesting indeed to see which ones will be on their list. I'll reserve further comment until then. :rolleyes1

4. You have no idea what a pot belly is until you've carried and birthed 5 bundles of joy! Abs will NEVER. BE. THE. SAME. :scared1: :sad2:

hey hey hey - just wanted to say HAVE FUN!!

and its a given to make fun of people taking pictures of food!! Go for broke, funnel cakes, dole whips, mickey bars... works for me!! :thumbsup2

I missed this part last night... I'm going to be wearing eyeliner. I'm going to let DW put it on me though. I'd probably poke myself in the eye or something! :rotfl:

1. I like this #'s thing! LOL I need to live it up in Disney. I just really don't need dessert with all those meals. Who eats dessert after lunch? :confused3

2. The double chin is DW assessment.LOLOL I tried on the costume yesterday and Juliana started laughing at me. Yup, my 3yr old daughter is laughing at me. I thought I'd have a few more years before this would happen. I took a picture with my cell and sent it to Melody while she was at work. She said she showed everyone she worked with..... OH GREAT!

3. Here is the site http://disney.prizelogic.com/ it is actually muppets themed. (I like it!!!) It is still under construction.

4. LOLLOLOL Nore will I ever know! Sometimes I thank God that I'm not a woman (no offense to all my readers!)

Are there any other guys out there reading this???? ScottNY used to visit but I haven't seen him in a while. Are there any others that I'm not aware of???:confused3

Are there any food picture takers who aren't DISers? I find it a little weird but fun at the same time!

I'll save the Mickey bar for DD. That thing has 75% of your daily fat intake. I'd feel guilty eating it.:sad2:

WE ARE GETTING REALLY EXCITED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:woohoo: :yay: :woohoo: :yay: :woohoo:

EDIT:::: I just found this--> "Main Street Bakery closed- 9/28/09 - 10/6/2009 Casey's Corner and Plaza Ice Cream Parlor will be serving a continental breakfast while the bakery is closed." Maybe we can get a cinnamon roll after all?

Responses in red...

Did you ever read Mrs. The King's reports?? OMG! They are so funny!! This totally reminds me of her chapter called "something, something, and Jellybags"! Yeah, she called her daughter's eyes "jellybags". :lmao:1. I like this #'s thing! LOL I need to live it up in Disney. I just really don't need dessert with all those meals. :confused3 Seems like overkill to me. I vote for a funnel cake at 3:00! Dessert, but late.

I'm sure they had a ball.
Wait til they are 15! Unbelievable!

Weird, but fun- like you say. I felt like I had to get pre-approval from LeeAnn to do this for our trip. Otherwise??

Maybe I can go for a run in the morning at POP.:confused3 If I do eat a Mickey Bar I will force myself to run somewhere... but not in the parks.:sad2: That is frowned upon.:scared1:

You are right behind us. It will go fast!!!:goodvibes

OK FINE _ Mickey bars are out... (I imagine that would include any Dove Bars I may run into here at home... :rolleyes1)

What's the fat content of Funnel Cakes? Spoil it for me, go ahead...

Funnel cake (1): 760 calories/44 g fat
Giant turkey leg: 1,136 calories/54 g fat
Dole Whip (google was less than helpful, maybe 80 calories and 5 Fat calories)

(and I'm looking for nutritional information on that cinnamon BUN mister!) :)

Google found one cinnabun at 730 calories and 216 FAT GRAMS - and I think its SMALLER than wdw's version!!

Also - keep in mind if I can train for a Half in Chicago's Winter - then by golly you can get out there in Conn!!

Oooh..I hope you get a cinnamon roll there!

I got on last night cause I couldn't sleep and read everything I missed, but looking back I can't find my post, so in my restless night I must've been either dreaming or had forgot to push the send putton....

I can't believe all the fun I have missed leading up to these 3 :yay::woohoo: days before you depart to the Happiest Place on Earth :banana::banana:

You better take lots of pictures of you all in costumes. It is amazing how the DIS talks us into things... Jack Sparrow... hehe

Anyhow, I can't wait to see how your trip plays out, and will be anxiously awaiting your TR.... you are writing one, right?:rolleyes1 no pressure

I have to remember to take a picture of the nutritional info on a Mickey bar. You all will like it.. or not! LOL

I know Chicago is the windy city... our winter weather is just as bad. We get a little lake effect snow here. No where as much as you though. We probably get more total snow than Chicago though. I'd have to look it up.

:rotfl2: Probably a good idea to let your DW do the eyeliner for you. :thumbsup2

Do you know the grief I would get if any of my friends saw me putting this on? LOL

I will be writing a TR.. keep in mind this PTR is still going to be running till our March trip.

You must of been tired. I've tried to write while falling asleep before. It's always comedy when I wake up and see what I have wrote. Then I delete it!!:rotfl:

I've been checking Orlando's weather ever day for the last week. It keeps getting worse. It went from being sunny everyday, to having isolated thunder storms a few days, to now having isolated and scattered thunder storms everyday.:sad2: Day time highs around 88- lows around 72.

We went to 4 stores today to pick up last minute items and to find some decorations. We couldn't find any Disney window clings but we have found a few things to put in our window. I also bought 4 ponchos for $1 each (looks like we might need them) We also found some glow in the dark princess wands. Juliana will love these. I bought some boot covers to finish my costume. I was thinking about buying the Jack Sparrow goatee with beads. I think it will look cheesy. Here is a pic of it.---> http://www.buypiratecostumes.com/accessories_jack_sparrow_goatee_mustache.html I think I'll be better off using the makeup and leaving off the goatee.

I rented Pirates of the Caribbean tonight. DW started watching it with me.. that lasted about 10 minutes. Her friend called and I watched the rest by myself. I was going to call it an adult Disney movie night.... maybe it was Tim's movie night. LOLOL

DW has most of her packing done. Juliana is done and I haven't started. I have to get this done tomorrow. I just picked up a job tomorrow night so I need to get it done during the day. I guess that's it for now.:3dglasses

I forgot to add.... my mom came over for dinner and brought Juliana a present for Disney. She bought her a Fisher Price Camera. http://www.fisher-price.com/fp.aspx?st=2620&e=cameralanding It is a 1.3MP camera. Ana was running around snapping pictures for over an hour. Then the battery's died! I DLed her pics to my computer and they didn't look all that bad. She will be so excited when she is snapping her own pics in WDW!!!
