I just made ressies for the 4th of July and just like last year I went over my points! At this rate in two years I won't have any points to borrow! So just how low do you go before an add-on?

Sounds like it is time for an add on. And with current Disney incentive, it may work out well for you. Good luck!

Our decision to add on involved:

1) Beating the price increase,
2) Owning in Epcot area before it's sold out,
3) Using Christmas present to ourselves as an excuse,
and of course what you mentioned -- not having enough points to spend!

Go for it!

For us, the first question would be - Can we afford more points and to continue our pattern of trips as is? Only if the answer to that is yes, would we consider adding on more points.

Maybe it's time to skip a year (or downsize the unit or shorten the usual length of stay) and "catch up". I foresee that sad day coming for us. One of these years it's going to be a studio. Talk about spolied, right??

We're right there with you! We just booked a trip for July 4 and borrowed almost all of the points! If we had the cash right now, we would add on for the 4th time. I went to Expedia and priced out our trip we just booked as if we were paying customers, $2700. I just love that feeling of knowing how much money I'm not spending and how well my DVC investment is paying off for our family.
