Time off from CP?

To anyone that has or is currently in the CP: I know that we are obligated to full availablilty when we are in the CP however I was wondering if there would be any way to possibly get appox. a week off some time during my stay in order to go on a trip to DL with my uncle,bf, and sister. haha one park just isn't enough i guess... Maybe if I didn't take any sick days? What do you think? I would like to start planning as soon as possible if it is even possible to do this. Thank you very much

It depends on the department and your managers. You may be able to, if it is not a busy time- like spring break or easter.

If I'm correct, entertainment can only get 2 days off during the program.

I know right now, Entertainment cps can get 2 days off. however they may be willing to work with you. For example if you would be willing to work 2 weeks with no days off, before or after you want the time off. I hope that makes since What height range did they say you are (if you don't mind my asking)

So you are only able to be scheduled two days off a week. To get more days off in a row you can try to schedule a Friday and Saturday off of Week A and then Sunday Monday off of Week B. This would give you 4 days off in a row, get it? And then once the schedule comes out you can (try to) give away other shifts you don't want to make up the extra days. You can always call out. One point on your record card won't kill you!

And you'd want to put these requests in ASAP. The further ahead you do the more likely you'll get the days off that you want.

on top of the above ideas, Disney actually allows "personal days" verses sick days. If you use a personal day, it still counts on your record, but you are allowed to use your ID, go to the park, do whatever you want. If you call in sick and you use your ID, you have a strong chance of being terminated. This happened to someone I know.

I think it's a really nice system just because they do allow you to just have a "me" day without feeling guilty about it. I don't remember what the limitations on how many days in a row you could call in with it though.

I am planning a cruise in may and have a wedding in august to attend so I'll be hoping for time off. I'd LOVE to be able to visit DBF while he is in Italy, but I doubt I'm gonna get a week off

That's good to know. Sometimes you just need a day for yourself. Its good to know that I won't get terminated for that.

Your ID will you get in the parks for free everyday. Then you get your tickets for guests which is 3 people 6 times. THEN you can also buy discounted tickets (15%?? I don't remember...) as well for guests (not yourself...). For example I used my free tickets on family and then when friends came to visit I bought them discounted tickets.

You getfree access to the parks until they're at full capacity I believe. The discount tickets are for friends and family and stuff.

Is the whole month of April considered Spring Break? My mom is currently in nursing school and she gets a week off and wants me to fly back home and visit, but her break is in March I believe. I wanted to take a weekend (Friday Saturday Sunday Monday) and give my shift up on Tuesday if that were possible.

I had a week off when my parents visited, but I was at the golf course where the schedule was pretty flexible since it only required 6 guys to run a shift. I'd say if you're looking for a longer period, you'll need a couple days from the scheduler and then you'll need help from other part time people to fill the shifts.

I don't know how this might work in Character preformer/entertainment but you can also give your shift away to another person trained in the role you are filling that shift and whose hours this shift won't push over forty, unless it's already OT for you, then you can. I hope that made sense the way I put it!
