What is the best way to go from the MK to the Contemporary? Is it the first stop on the monorail? How frequently do the monorails come and how long is the trip to the Contemporary? Is the bus faster?

It depends on the crowds. If it's not crowded and you see the monorail at the station or approaching the station then I say take it. Otherwise it is a 5-10 minute walk from MK to the CR tower.

Oh, I did not realize we could walk!

How about when our dinner at the Contemporary is done, what is our best way back to AKL? Just walk back to MK? Or do the AKL busses go to TTC? In that case, should we just take the monorail to TTC? Is TTC the stop right after the Contemporary? Thanks

The resort buses for the MK are located between the entrance of the MK and the Contemporary. The walk from the Contemporary may not even be any longer than the walk from the monorail station at the MK. Unless it's pouring rain walking is the way to go.

There are no buses from the monorail resorts (Contemporary, Poly and Grand Floridian) to MK.

The Resort monorail runs clockwise, from MK to Comtemporary, to TTC, to Poly, then Grand Floridian.

The monorails come every 5 to 10 minutes.

For the easiest, quickest route,I would walk back to MK...but if you'd like to take the monorail ride, take it from CR TO TTC or to Poly. You can then get off and walk from Poly (enjoying the grounds) to TTC and grab a bus there to AK, or continue on the monorail to GF, stay on and continue on back to MK. You can get off there and just head down the ramp and over to the resort bus area. We love the monorail and usually stop at each resort and visit them, hitting the shops, lobby etc., just walking around. We like the Poly at night, Tiki torches are lit, very nice, go down to the little beach for a bit. Explore...it's a great thing to do at WDW!
Remember to take note of the trees at CR if you walk over, the lights twinkle in the trees. we prefer to think of it as Tinkerbell and Friends lighting up the way for us.
