Time Change

I actually don't mind Spring Forward so much even though you "lose" an hour, because you're "gaining" an extra hour of daylight. But I don't like Fall Back because I HATE that it gets dark at 4:30. Miserable and depressing.

Wait....some states don't change the time...???

That's right. During the summer when it's 114F or hotter, we prefer the desert sun to go down sooner rather than later, so there's no point in having an extra hour of daylight.

I HATE the time change always have always will. Hate it getting dark so early in the winter.

Only reason I up now an posting is no sleep all night feeling very frustrated not bein able to sleep.

Not liking this whole time change thing. Awake at 4:30 this morning and have to work today. I see a very early bedtime tonight.

Now, when I get off work and it is dark, all I want to do is come home and hibernate. How many more days until the first day of Spring??????

I don't mind the time change. It's only an hour, either way, depending on whether it's spring or fall. The amount of daylight/darkness depends on where you live, not some arbitrary measuring device (the clock). People bemoan the early darkness, yet in approximately 50 days, it's going to start staying lighter a little bit longer each day. We've had less and less light each day all summer and fall (since June 22), so I don't understand how your body has to "adjust," and why it's such a huge issue now, simply because we have set the clocks back. I don't see how resetting a clock is any different from staying up too late, or getting up too early, occasionally. The change in the amount of actual light your body is experiencing is minuscule- merely a few seconds difference from yesterday.

Well, I notice a big change in the time change. In summer it stays light out until about 8:45 pm then in Winter it gets dark out at 4:30. Bring on Spring!

It'll take a week before I adjust:confused3

When I vacation to another time zone, I'm fine:lmao:

I'm up so early that I'll still see every moment of daylight.:upsidedow
But I'm already in a funk because fall is here, winter is approaching and I'm cold until MAY.:sad2:
. I was watching the weather last nite and the weather man said the only benefit is the kids do not have to go to school in the dark. Yet the UP of Michigan has no problem with it.

I just thought about this and give or take a few days, but it is around 150 days. I would rather have it a little more dark in the morning and more sun in the evening.

The idea is that we supposedly save energy by shifting the daylight hours to the end of our work day. I don't know if that's true anymore.

Anyone else remember Double Daylught Saving Time? Back in1974 we had daylight saving time all winter long. I remember going to school in the dark.

I don't mind it, especially getting that "extra hour" when we "fall back" in the fall. :)

I do enjoy having more daylight in the evenings during the summer months.

I live in Indiana and we just started changing time a few years ago. I hate it and wish we could go back to the old days when time always stayed the same! It was worse when I was working, but I still hate it!

Until having a kid time changes really just meant it got darker earlier so I will go into work some days when its pretty much dark out, or in high school living in Maine the late bus would drop us off in the dark. Other then that the actual time change has never really bothered me. Now with DS it's a little trickier since he is such a schedule kid, he will go to the bottom of the stairs at almost 11 exactly and tell US it's nap time. So today when he wanted to go to bed at 10 we had to try to keep him up until 10:30 and tomorrow a little later. Bed time will be interesting tonight though.

I do hate how it gets darker sooner. However I love getting an extra hour :) I hate springing forward and losing an hour... -_-

I remember the year-round daylight slavings time. I lived in cold(!) country at the time, and had to stumble out of a warm bed, crank up the heat an hour earlier, turn on more lights, drive to work because it was too cold to walk -- how was that supposed to help the energy crisis?

I haven't been enjoying getting up at 6:30 while it's still dark. I'll be glad to see a little daylight before I have to roust my oldest DS out of bed. On the other hand, I'm not looking forward to doing my younger DS's theater carpool in the dark. I pick up four kids and deliver them to a studio downtown when the traffic is at its heaviest. It's nice to get them there before dark, but I'll just have to deal!

Just another day to me. :wave2:

Now I did do a little prep with my dogs. I did change their feeding schedule due to the fact it gets darker sooner.

I'm really thrown off. I keep thinking it is so much later than it really is and today has gone by sooooo slooooow because of it!

I am still used to the sun setting at 9pm. Sun goes down you go to bed. So right now am ready to go to bed.
