Thanks! We went to Clifty Falls State Park in Madison Indiana, it was a beautiful getaway.

At least you were not sick with food poisoning while at WDW, like I was on our last trip!! The food that got me sick was not from Disney, but from Quiznos the night before. I woke up the morning of our trip VERY SICK!!! It lasted about 9 days, but still enjoyed WDW the best way possible.

That is AWFUL, so sorry to hear that!

Oh no, food poisoning. Bless your hearts! How awful. I hope everyone is on the mend.

I started listening to the podcast a few weeks ago and heard this week I believe it was where your crew sent Girl Scout cookies. How very nice of you!

Sorry for the delay in posting, things have been CRAZY busy, but back to the report.

So, the Thursday before our Disney Give a Day Get a Day weekend I had decided what meal to provide for the homeless shelter. They had sent a list of possible "options" since they were nicely saying they had been given a LOT of pasta (bummer, because pasta was what I was originally planning on).
Well, I decided on the menu of pulled pork BBQ, buns, coleslaw and cut up orange slices, it was on their list of wanted meals and HECK IT WAS EASY So on Thursday night we all went to the store together and got all the stuff.
FRIDAY night was a BIG family night with Tim's family. It was our job to bring chips and dip and pop (I'll get to why this is important later). We had a GREAT time with his family. Saturday night LATE Lauren came in our room throwing up Then 30 minutes later Luke started throwing up . 30 minutes AFTER THAT TIM started throwing up violently
I couldn't believe it. I was listening to all of them, helping clean up, getting kids back into beds, garbage cans ready, etc. Laying there PRAYING knowing I would probably be next. By some MIRACLE I didn't get sick. Tim and the kids each got sick over 10 times it was a LONG night.
Well Sunday was our Give a Day Get a Disney day, NOT as I had planned. I had to get all the stuff ready by myself and drive it to Kentucky by myself. Here it was ready to go:

It was about 30 minutes away. It was kind of a scary area though and I was wishing I wasn't standing on the corner by myself as several homeless men approached (SCARY). One said "how are you doin' slim?" I was just a TAD bit nervous and it seemed like forever for them to come to the door.
But, MISSION accomplished, food was delivered and I have our certificates for Disney Give a Day Get a Disney Day (just in time too since the promo has already ended)
So.............. that Tuesday night we were shopping at Kroger and our receipt printed out saying "you may have bought this product that has been recalled due to salmonella posioning". IT WAS THE DEANS FRENCH ONION DIP!!!!!!
I started asking the kids and Tim if they had eaten the dip, they HAD (I had not thank God). We started calling around and several other people in Tim's family were throwing up that weekend, they had eaten the dip too. CRAZY!!!!!

So, that's our crazy Give a Day Get a Disney Day story/update.

How scary about the dip . I have a friend that's daughter got salmonella poisioning and ended up in the hospital. Glad that everyone recoverd quickly.

Lesley, How nice of you! Graeters------ that place is fabulous! DH grew up in Cincy so he knew what it was. I on the other hand had no clue until the first time he took me there. Boy, it is no place for my diet but the ice cream is heavenly.

Too bad about the dip. I am glad to hear that everyone is better now.

Can't wait to hear more.

Oh my goodness! I am not sure which is scarier -- the family ending up with food poisoning from the French Onion Dip (who would have thought?) or you having to deliver your food to an iffy part of town! All's well that ends well, though, thank goodness!

BTW.. I saw you all went to Clifty Falls, how was that? We used to go there a lot growing up, but I know they have changed it a bunch. That would be a fun getaway!

Wow the food poisoning sounds REALLY terrible. Thank goodness you didn't eat any or your household would have been insane! I'm so glad everyone got over it. What bad timing! You really earned your free Disney day! Something tells me that your crowd will never eat french onion dip again!
