Tim Tebow

Well, since you asked... I think he is highly overrated.. talked about WAY TOO MUCH by sports commentators. I also think he is a crybaby...

By talked about do you mean bash? I've heard barely anything positive about him from ANY sports commentator.

Plus Doug is King of the CFL
The hiesman is misunderstood IMHO. Being great in college/amateur sports does not mean success will follow you through life. It is a lot different playing against boys and playing against men. Some people like Sydney Crosby meet of even exceed our expectations. Other like Ryan Leaf do not.

I mean talked about period.... I get tired of hearing anything about him, good or bad. His name comes up in conversation during almost every college game I watch. That's just my opinion!

I don't know him but compared to most other high profile players he seems to have way less of an ego problem. That in itself is refreshing.

He is a decent quarterback that in the right offense can be effective. He won't be a Manning but far worse quarterbacks have had successful careers.

Seems like a very nice guy. Gets attention for his Evangelical beliefs. As long as he's not condemning me, I'm fine with him.

I have a MAJOR crush on him as well. I love him and everything he stands for. I could watch his documentary Everything in Between every day! I am just reminded that I need to buy his book! I am totally rooting for him to do well in the NFL and shut all the critics up!

I am in the same camp  Love him and hope to raise sons like him :goodvibes

I'm a big fan, especially since I'm a Gator. His older brother graduated with an Engineering degree at the same time as my little sister. The whole family is as nice as they are portrayed to be.

You know he's going to work his butt off for your team and is not going to be arrested for a DUI/domestic abuse/etc. How can you not root for him?

Well, I respect his devotion to his faith - even though I don't agree with parts of it.

As a Quarterback, he has flashes of brilliance but overall yeeesh. My husband had this youth baseball team one year that for each and every game they were either going to play like world champs or the Bad News Bears .... before Tatum O'Neal started pitching for them. And you never knew which team would show up on the field any night.

Tim Tebow strongly reminds me of that team.

He was one of the greatest college football players of all time. His physical skills were incredible. His leadership skills were arguably the best ever. He has and will likely continue to struggle at the pro level due to a number of factors, but in the end, he is driven, humble, confident, and committed. He is, by all accounts, a wonderful person with a kind heart and a genuine desire to help others. He is a real joy to be around, especially when his younger fans are around. He is patient and goes out of his way to give individual attention to youngsters who he knows he is a role model for.

In the end, as badly as he wants to succeed in the pros, ultimately, he is also convinced that his life has an even greater purpose, and he will embrace the next phase whenever it comes, with all the passion and commitment that he can muster.

:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

I am late joining this thread and have not read through all of it. I had to stop here and say I totally agree with this. I also have to say that I loved Tebow even more after reading his autobiography. AWESOME book!
(BTW, this is coming from an LSU Tigers fan. ;) )
