how do you guys feel about this???

do you think it will kill the disney version or be amazing??
personally i'm soooooo excited about this i love tim burton and johnny depp and think that this will just be another fantastic movie with both of them...

but other opinions??

i cant wait!
im a BIG Tim Burton fan and this will be so good!

Should be interesting. I care deeply about this movie so I hope it doesn't get screwed up.

I'm definitely excited for it. I think Alan Rickman as the Catepillar will be brilliant, I can totally see him in that role. Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter, I can see the looks but I'm not so sure about the acting.

Who are the White Queen and the Red Queen? I've never read the book, so I'm assuming the Red Queen is the Queen of Hearts?

I've been waiting for like...two years for this.

Tim Burton+Alice in Wonderland+Johnny Depp+Alan Rickman=*love*

Well I for one, am excited. Disney is actually producing this =)
I can't wait until 2010... I've been excited since it was rumored and AAHHH!
My two loves= Tim Burton and Alice in Wonderland
xD

Like seriously. I love Tim Burton's films he's awesome.
And Danny Elfman.. who I hear is doing the soundtrack and if so- YAY! I love his music!

Oh and by the by,

The White Queen and the Red Queen are chess pieces from Through the Looking Glass (and what Alice found there)

The actual Queen of Hearts, though an angry woman, doesn't hold a candle to the Red Queen.

The Red Queen is the one who has the lines, "All ways are MY way,", etc.
The White Queen is the other chess piece queen.

that should be interesting

ITA i don't think tim burton's ever screwed up a movie...i love them all!!!

Planet of the Apes could be argued. I like it, but it messed around a bit with some of the things.

Personally, I like his Batmans too, but they're obsolete by Dark Knight standards.

omg yayyyy he's amazing... nightmare before christmas with him was absolutely amazing!! loved it

Yeah. In any case, I think they're doing a bit of a cross-breed like the cartoon was.
(It uses elements from Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass)

For example, the Queen of Hearts was a mix between herself and the Red Queen.

how is the book different from the cartoon?? how do they compare

I'd say the book and cartoon are pretty similar with weird quirks every now and then. They have pretty much exact lines from the book in the movie

The majority of the movie is just Alice in Wonderland, but, for example, the Golden Afternoon scene is from Through the Looking Glass (but no singing, just meeting the flowers).
