Great update! I am so glad Fantasmic wasnt cancelled .... uhhh I dread the thought! Now that you mention it, I never saw the check out thing on the door. My DH got if off there before I could see it....wasn't that sweet of him? The kids look like they really had a great day...smart to go back and swim! Can't wait for more!

Glad to hear you liked Mama Melrose. I have been ruminating on whether I should cancel our ADR for the F! package but it's nice to read that dinner was good and you got good seats!


I am so glad F! wasn't cancelled; we once waited for almost 2 hours at Disneyland to end up having it cancelled.

Hi Leslie...I hope your book gets published..I have enjoyed readng your trip report,and I just loved the pictures. Tim took some really great ones of you guys at Mama Melrose and Fantasmic..Lauren just looked so adorable in those pics. I also loved the picture of her and Luke walking and holding hands.That just sums up how happy they are in Disney right there.And the video of Lauren dancing was so cute. I also loved Tims songs...he has got some talent.There was just so much I liked about your trip report it is hard to mention it all.
I know the feeling of seeing that envelope on your door....it is bad enough to have to get it at all,but to get it as early as you did was low...we all know that dreadful day is coming when we have to leave,but we at least dont want to be reminded of it a full 2 days before we actually have to go...lol.
Anyway,I just wanted to thank you for entertainig me, and it is sad that the end is coming.I look forward to reading about your trip next year.

Maybe it's just me, but if my mom was on vacation with 10 of us, and she needed to get on the bus with her wheelchair, and we were all going to the same hotel, I'd send her with one or two other people ahead... if she REALLY couldn't just sit in line like the rest of the folks..

i know, it's depressing for me this TR is coming to an end, because it still feels like the Disney vacation extended, then I'll really slip into a Disney depression. They need to release next years rates so I can start obsessing over next year. I completely agree with the wheelchair thing, I wouldn't feel right having my group of 10 cut everyone off and would send one on with her.

Oh man...the slap back to reality! The dreadful thing on the door! But...You guys did do the same thing that we are going to be doing! We will be eating at Mama Melrose and doing the Fantasmic Package! And....you ordered everything I want to order! I love bruschetta and penna alla vodka! Yum!

I know, I HATE that envelope! We didn't do the package this year, couldn't book it, but got in just fine an hour ahead of the show. The Penne Alla Vodka is AWESOME!

They would have been included as snack credits but I saved ours for that night.

I know it was a bummer to see the Magical Express envelope waiting for you on your door.

Where your seats for the show close to the bottom? The pictures from Fantasmic were great looking... Our pictures did not turn out too good. What type of camera do you guys use?

I can't believe your report is almost over.... I get my Disney fix from reading your reports....

Our seats were in the middle, best spot in my oppinion,never want to be too close to the bottom. We just use a Samsung Digimax Digital Camera, 5.1 megapixel, not the fanciest of cameras but it gets the job done.

Another great installment - the ME envelope is always such a sad sight.

I totally hear you on the scooter abuse - I think one family member should be allowed to accompany the person in the scooter/wheelchair. It just gets so frustrating when they have 10-20 people with them!! I totally understand that many people need them, but it gets pretty frustrating for everyone else that has to wait for 3-4 buses to get on after that.

I've never really thought we wanted to stay at POFQ, but your pictures are really great & it makes me want to consider it some day.

Scooter abuse is definitely an issue. I would give POFQ a try, I couldn't believe how pretty it was!

Didn't mean to sneak out of there that night, BTW. Accompanied my daughter to the restroom, and as we were returning, DH and the boys had paid the check and were leaving! Another great update! I love Mama Melrose as well, very yummy. How neat that you were able to meet up with somebody from the Dis. I did not see anybody the whole week I was there sporting the LGMH.

How cool that you got to ride in the front of Rock n Roller Coaster. I loved that ride. My favourite thrill ride at Disney!

Fantasmic cancelled, say it isn't so! I can imagine your anxiety waiting to find out if the show would go on, lucky for you it did. I think your shots of Fantasmic are great. I tried taking pictures but they really didn't come out so I just took some video clips instead

So sad that it is your last night but you still have the tour in the morning which I can't wait to hear about!

It was funny, we had several Disers approach us this year, a first for us. I was so anxious after that Fantasmic announcement, so glad it went!!! Tour info coming soon.

Mama's is a good meal, I wouldn't cancel your ADR,however if you are doing it just for Fantasmic I think the seats you get on your own without the package are better but you do have to wait a bit more in the stadium, but the time passes quickly.

DH and I signed up about 2 years ago, we purchased just the minimum number of points (all we could afford, really) but it's enough to get us 2 trips a year (4-5days per trip). It's really wonderful because it "forces" us to go! We pay for the points, so we gotta use 'em!

I'm liking the pics of POFQ!!! I just showed DBF (we are 19 days out now!!! ) and he said 'wow, looks nice'.

I have seen Fantasmic 2 times and I never noticed Steam Boat Willie was driving the boat at the end...I'll have to look this year. Seems like they were having minor technical problems the night you were there. We have the FDP booked so I am hoping all goes smoothly for us that night

Thanks for another great post. I love that you are bookin' along so quickly, but for my own selfish reasons I was kinda hoping that your TR would take a little longer so it would make our countdown seem to go faster. We are VERY excited about going in Dec. BUT we have never waited that long and since our trip was last Sept. we are cravin' the magic sooooo much. Thanks for helping us all live thru your TR your pics and reporting are GREAT!!!
My DH sounds just like Tim, he talks to everyone all the time. He too talks to the CMs. In my opinion you should consider including that in your book. The CMs make the magic possible, but not everyone treats them that way.

So glad to hear that you didn't miss Fantasmic, it is also my FAVORITE show in the world. Thanks for the great pics.

Sorry if this was already asked, but what type of camera do you have? DD has been asking for a digital cam so that is the perfect opportunity for ME to get a new one and pass on my old one to her!!

Hi Leslie! I was just wondering, how old is Lauren? My dd turned three in January and we are going in August and she wants to do Splash Mountain so bad (probably from seeing her older dbrothers do it!) She is about 39 1/2 inches so she just misses the cutoff! But on the off chance that she grows a half an inch before we leave, I was wondering how your little one did on rides like that and Soarin?

Thanks! And I absolutly love reading your trip report! My husband is a teacher too, but he teaches summer school so we never get to go until the last two weeks of August. Then he starts school again after Labor Day. We are going for one week at POR and then heading to Summer Bay time share for our 2nd week and to use up the last of our 10 day hopper! We went last August too, with ds(8), ds(5) and dd(2) and the littlest ds(who turned 1 at disney last year!) but now we are a whole year older and taller!
