Tim and Lesley Year of Million Compromises/TONS pics- 8/5 help me pg. 164!!!

Lesley, your plan looks great and I have to say I'm SUPER JEALOUS...I want a vacation so bad right now. But, I'm happy reading all the excitement here.

I did notice...no water parks? Have you guys been to either or do you plan on it? We didn't make it last year because of the gross lovebugs, but I think we'll try out one of them this year. We went years ago and had a blast at Typhoon Lagoon.

I printed out a book off TourGuide Mike's website (literally). I thought I was a fantastic planner until I got to the section where members post their fancy shmancy :) spreadsheets. OH MY!!! My husband was laughing..and yes, I'm going to use them, notecards and all. Between now and my trip, I'm going to have to figure a way to laminate though. I have 156 days!!

I'm planning my five day solo trip to the World (even though I live an hour and a half away I want to do the tourist thing ... see the fireworks, night shows, etc.) ... and I'm using Tour Guide Mike. Holy crap it's awesome. I have loads of information and I too pretty much printed out a freaking booklet, lol. It's fun planning things tho. What's kind of hurting my plan is the fact that I'm determined to be at Magic Kingdom on the 13th of September, only because Haunted Mansion is reopening ... I have to be there for that. I guess I could always parkhop briefly to ride but I'm only going to be at the world for so many days so I want to focus on a park a day and possibly hop at night.

PS ... sorry for the thread hijack Lesley ... I just had to applaud TGM ... it's truly awesome.

Lesley,
One more week, how exciting!!!!!!!!!! Your plans look great, you will really enjoy Le Cellier. Just one suggestion: Make sure you try to see Wishes, if your kids are not doing well in the park, hop the monorail and ride to the POLY beach. They can run around alittle, or just relax on the beach. There is usually speakers that play the music to WISHES. We really enjoy seeing it from inside the park, but sometimes with small children it is difficult to stay in a hot crowded park. Take a cab back to your resort for a truly stress free experience.

I agree with disneyaddicted...I've loved reading the pre-trip. Can't wait for the trip report!! :thumbsup2
Thanks so much, glad everyone came back for another round with us!
Lesley

I more week! I can't believe the time has gone by so quickly! :cool1:
This time next week you will be in The Happiest Place on Earth! :wizard:

Your itinerary looks great! We are looking forward to trying Ohana this year! Oh and I hope you love Le Cellier, we are going back this year and can't wait! Have fun swimming with your kids today!
I know, time sure has flown by, this Pre-TR has certainly helped, it's been fun. OHana's is SO good, you will love it, LeCellier should be good, can't wait!!!!! We did have fun at the pool today, thanks!
Lesley

Lesley,
I have been lurking here and enjoying your pre trip report! How exciting only a week to go.

After reading your itinerary, I was hoping you would give a good report back on Coral Reef. We will be going there for the first time in July, I have heard mixed reviews, but thought my DSs 11 & 15 would like the locale. Also, I hope you like Le Cellier it is our family favorite! :thumbsup2
So glad you decided to post. I will share our Coral Reef experience, I've read some good reviews here lately on the Dis so that is good!
Lesley

1 week!! That's so awesome!! :goodvibes
I know!!!!! Thanks!
Lesley
I see where you guys are going to eat dinner at LeCellier. You will really enjoy it! We ate there in March and it was one of our favorite restaurants...

I really wanted to do the Fantasmic Package too, but we could not get the ressie's. I was kind of glad we didn't, because I hear that with the package you are one of the first ones into the arena. We waited in the line to get in but still had to wait a long time for the show to start. If your kids are good at waiting a long time for a show to start then you should be fine, but my boys can't stay seated that long....lol

Are you buying autograph books at the parks or are you picking them up before hand? I have been trying to think of a cost saving idea for our Sept 08 trip when it comes to the books. When we went in March we only took our oldest son and we ended up buying 2 autograph books. The next time we go we will be taking both boys and I know that they both will want to do the autographs..Someone gave me the idea that my oldest might enjoy having a hat that the characters could sign with waterproof markers..

Your itinerary sounds great! I just wish I was that organized....lol

Hopefully, the weather will work out better than your last trip. I will keep my fingers crossed that your kids don't get sick this time..

Dottie
They have the snack stands in the waiting area for Fantasmic so my kids will be fine. Last time we did the package- 2 years ago we were actually the last to be seated which is the nice thing about the package you can get there closer to show time, just walk in the private entrance and grab a seat. Last year when Luke and I went and waited we got the GREAT Mickey section though so I plan on sitting there this year too.
As for autograph books, we bought one there last year and it's only half full so we are bringing it back for round 2. We bought a Mickey pen last year and Luke loved it so we're bringing it back this year, the sharpies work good too!
I hope the weather is good and kids healthy too, send pixie dust our way!
Lesley

OMG, I forgot to post today....

7 Days to go!

Hooray, can you believe it?!?!?
Oh how dare you Darlene ;) CAN YOU BELIEVE WE ONLY HAVE 7 MORE DAYS!!!! I love how we are sharing the excitement together!!!! less than 3 hours to 6 days :woohoo:

Thanks! We have GREAT water parks here in Cincinnati we go to all the time so we have never done the Disney water parks - maybe when the kids get older but not this year for sure.
Glad you enjoy TGM, isn't it AWESOME!!!!! I love all those spreadsheets you are referring to, I used them A LOT in my planning this year. Enjoy the forums on there too, they are SO helpful!

I will DEFINITELY NOT leave WDW without seeing WISHES this year, I promise!!!!! The Poly Beach is a good idea, I am hoping being my first time seeing it I can see it inside the park though. I will make it happen! Kids are older this year so it shouldn't be a problem.
Lesley

Let me know how POFQ is..I think that out of all the moderate resorts that would be the one we would like to stay.

Especially, let me know how the bus service is....:thumbsup2

OK how much have I missed??!!? I'll be back to catch up but wanted to mark my spot again ;)

:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: 6 days to go    Can you believe it??? After all this planning and excitement...it's LESS than a week away:thumbsup2

Your itenery looks awesome....and busy ;) (fun busy that is). I can't wait to hear how your trip goes. I'm sure you'll have a huge crowd waiting here on the dis for the start of the 'NEW" Trip report.:thumbsup2

How is the packing coming???? I am so jealous...I am packing for a week at the beach and cannot wait to pack for my week at Disney!!!

Sounds like you have a full schedule! Cannot wait to hear about BBB with Lauren. I am trying to decide if we will do that for our DD5 this time.

Stay well and cannot wait to hear about your TRIP!!!:surfweb:

6 more days!!!!!

Lesley it's almost here...I can hardly contain myself, you guys must be going crazy in OH. Can't wait to see you all on the 22nd. Till then, Disney Dreams for 6 more "sleeps". =o)

Sounds like a great time! We're in the final stages of planning our Sept trip. We're just waiting now for the schedule of the shows that will take place at MGM for Magical Beginnings. Depending on what time the shows are, we'll need to do some re-arranging of things.

I do have a question concerning Magical Express. I was surprised that you're getting picked up at 5:00 for an 8:50 flight. That's almost 4 hours! We're considering using Magical Express for the 1st time, and my understanding was that we would be picked up 2 to 2 1/2 hrs before departure. However, if it's closer to 4 hrs, then ME won't work for us. Is 3 hrs 50 mins before departure the standard pickup time?

Thanks, and have fun!

OK, it's 1:06am that means..... 5 more "sleeps" till Disney. Lesley I'm soooo curious as to what you got Tim, I bet it's something awesome. You guys are such a cute family.

5 more days till Mickey, Mickey and more Mickey! You'll have to call me when you guys get into the park and I'll call you as we pull out to sea. We'll have loads to talk about when I get back on Sunday I'm sure...like how you won the Castle Suite, the DVC membership, the 14 night DCL cruise...you know...lol

I will, can't wait to check it out. I hear the bus service is great, first to get on, first to get off, that's why we chose it. I will let you know in the TR when we return.

OK how much have I missed??!!? I'll be back to catch up but wanted to mark my spot again ;)
Not too terribly much, glad to have you back Jen!

Packing hasn't gotten much done this week, but Tim is OFICIALLY done with all his DVD's so now he can get his suitcase out and start packing. I plan on doing the last of the "Disney laundry" this weekend and getting everything into suitcases very soon. I'll post a pic soon.
Lesley

Great itinerary! See you on the 18th!!! :goodvibes :thumbsup2
Thanks, see you Cathy, Lauren will be wearing her Belle gown:)

Good luck with the planning. I need to look at the Magical Express thing again, I may have posted the wrong time, they pick you up 3 hours prior to flight time I think our departing flight is actually 7:59 so they are picking us up close to 5:00, I think it said 4:59 exactly so that is why we need to leave after the parade at MK and head back to the hotel to catch the bus in time. Hope that helps.
Lesley

Hope you all have a great time!!
THANKS LAURA!!!!
