Tim and Lesley Year of Million Compromises/TONS pics- 8/5 help me pg. 164!!!

Lesley,
You are incredibly organized, way to go! With two young children and a busy job, you should be proud of yourself. I, like everyone else here on DIS, am really enjoying reading all your post and seeing all your pictures. Can't wait to here more, especially your TR.
:wizard: popcorn::

YAY!! Another timandlesley TR! The TR you did last year was the first one I ever read - I've been addicted to them ever since. You and your family seem as though you have such a great time together. I can't wait till DH and I have kids to do things like the countdown calendar with them!

I loved the part about the Lion King show. My hubby and I saw it about a year and a half ago. I gave him tickets as a wedding gift. Isn't it fantastic? you should check out broadwayacrossamerica.com to see when and if it is coming back to a city near you so your kids can go.

My family just gave me a Phantom of the Opera birthday party - I'm a huge fan, too! We're seeing it in Birmingham right before we leave for our trip in October. popcorn::

The notecards are an awesome idea. You're just a planning diva! Mind if I borrow some of your planning ideas?

Can't wait for more TR!:)

Hi Leslie! You are so much more ready than I am - I leave town in 2 day:scared1:

I always try to cram too much around my prep days. I have been trying for 3 days to get my "things I need to buy" shopping done, and can't get time to run to the store - tomorrow I absolutely have to!

Our block is having a neighborhood yard sale - I am putting a table of old movies, books and purses out with a FREE sign on them so I don't have to be out there - but hopefully I will get rid of some junk. :rotfl:

I am having company for dinner tomorrow night - my kids and parents before we leave - more cramming - It must be a sickness

Have fun! Catch me on my TR when I get back!:cloud9:

My dd7 is a huge fan of Phantom too. I took her last year and we stood outside to get autographs and the woman who played Christine sang Happy Birthday to her! It was amazing! We are going to NYC next month to catch Beauty and the Beast again before it closes for good at the end of July. One of the That's so Raven stars is Belle (Annaliese, I think).

Lesley- I can't believe you are less than 2 weeks out!!!! I love how organized you are and can only hope to be half as much when it's my turn!!! I'm at 110 days so I need to grab some more Mickey heads from Home Depot to make my calendar. Does anyone else feels guilty for taking 20-30 at a time :rolleyes1 ?

12 days!!

Can't believe it's almost here. I'm so excited for you guys. Now if we can get rid of this yuck weather here in the "Sunshine State"....lol. I woke up this morning to rocking windows, a wet bedroom floor and no power. Ugh!

Can't wait to meet you guys. Have a great weekend!

....and the anticipation is building!!:upsidedow
I hope its everything your dreamin and then some
lesley. Loving Disney as much as you do, its gotta
be another great vacation. :cloud9: Looking forward

Wow! ONLY 13 days???? That's so COOL!!!!
I know, today it is 12 more days!!!!!!!! I can't believe it!!!!!:cool1:
Hey! I havent checked in a while--Love your notecards! They are very organized and it doesn't make me look as crazy because I do the same thing, PLAN, PLAN, PLAN!
I show DBF things like this on the DIS all the time just to prove that the way we plan isn't absolutley insane. I think he is secretly scared because that means there are more "me's" out there running around! :lmao:

And way to go Tim! That was very nice of him to go shopping for you and the kids~! You are a very lucky lady, missy! :goodvibes

13 DAYS!! :cool1:  I cant believe it!!!
Glad you checked back in, you are getting ready too, can you believe we are so close!!!!
Lesley

Wow and I was getting excited about 72 days!

Still be excited about your 72 days, it flies by!!! Good luck in your classes.
Lesley

We have a 4-month calendar in our kitchen.. we got to erase May... and put up September.. which meant we got to write DISNEY VACATION on it!!!:cool1: :cool1: Now we can "SEE" it coming.

I will be so into your TR, as it will help me pass the days until mine!

Have fun getting ready!

Lesley

Oh my gosh, 2 days, get on the ball :rotfl: Good luck with the company, we are gonna be crazy busy right up until we leave too with company in town, Luke's getting baptized on the 10th, trying to cram some Father's Day activities in before we leave since we'll miss it and my b-day celebration since we're gone for that too, plus working up until the day we leave STINKS. Oh well, why am I complaining we are gonna be in Disney in 12 days!!!! Have a GREAT trip!

I know Darlene, can you believe it. Well, maybe Florida will get all the rain out of it's system before we arrive. We have always had terrible weather in June, like the tropical storm last year ;) Can't wait to meet you too!

Well, today has been a BUSY day, but I feel like I've gotten a lot done. It was nice here today so I took the kids to the pool from around 10-2 so that was nice. Since then I've done 5 loads of laundry, hauled all of the suitcases out of the crawl space and started filling them up, I have a suitcase out for me, and Luke and Lauren and they are already half full, I'll let Tim do his ;) . I will take a pic of the "staging area" as I call it with all of the stuff to pack later and post it. I also went to the bank and got a BUNCH of singles to put in our mousekeeping envelopes, now I just need to stuff those and get them ready.
Still need to find Luke's gameboy, it has gone missing and we can't find it and I need it to keep him entertained on the plane. I also need to get some activity books for each of them to do on the plane.
I called again today to see if anyone has cancelled the Fantasmic package, NO LUCK- oh well.
Gotta run, more laundry to fold and put away- I've never been more motivated to do laundry in my life:thumbsup2
12 days YIPEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:
Lesley

:thumbsup2 12 DAYS :goodvibes I'm getting excited for you :lmao:

I 'thought' I made a post a few days back ...but I can't find it anywhere. :confused3 Knowing me I posted it on someone elses thread :rotfl2: Anyways.....I was saying a few days ago I LOVE LOVE LOVE your notecard idea ;) I went out today to pick up some index cards for myself....I still have 3 months to go but I figure it's never to early to get started.

I was also saying (on my missing post)....that I went to a couple Disney stores last weekend and picked up a set of the Mickey Tiki shirts for me and my family...THEN I went back and picked up a Bambi Tiki shirt for myself, a Minnie Tiki shirt for my dd9, a Thumper Tiki shirt for DD14 and a Pirate Tiki shirt for DH. So we'll get to all wear our Micky shirts one day then the colored variety Tiki shirts another day....AND I picked up one of those Minnie Polo shirts also:thumbsup2 I got a kick seeing your post with your new polo after the weekend and buying one for myself.

Oh....I was also asking about Tour Guide Mike. I know you can't let any tips or secrets out...but I'm wondering if you or anyone else would care to share their thoughts on getting TGM IF you already have an idea of what your wanting to do. Some back ground info....we'll be going to WDW this next Sept (our family of 4 along with 12 other people....ages range from 8-63). We're staying at Pop for four night but only got 2 day base tickets (so no hopping). We're planning on doing MK and MGM. The day we planned MGM is Early EMH...but MK is not a EMH day at all. I know from reading his site and others he recomends NOT going to parks on EMH days....but I didn't learn that until I'd already made my ADR's....So unless I want to start over with that we'll be sticking with the MGM on a EMH day. Anyways...I've been considering getting TGM BUT I'm just not sure what all I'd be able to get from him. Or if it'd be worth it. So any suggestions or tips on if getting TGM would be the way to go. Like I said...we already have a game plan in mind and what parks were going to on what days along with ADR made...other than that we don't have a 'tour plan' made up....nor do I know if that's something we want???? OH...also this is only our second trip to WDW and for most of our group it's their first. Also...I forgot to mention on the other two days (the arrival day and last day) we're thinking of doing DTD/Disney Quest and a Water park. We're taking a red eye flight and will be arriving in Orlando at 6am. I don't know that after a 6hour flight that we'd be up for going to a park..so we've planned on taking it easy, shopping at DTD and having some of the group go to Disney Quest. Then...The last day we also wanted a somewhat 'rest' day so we decided to hit the water park (not that that'll be a big rest day...but it does close earler)....I wouldn't plan in the last day as a rest day BUT on Saturday were getting up early and heading to Port Canaveral to catch the Magic for a 7night Western Disney cruise:goodvibes (we did that last year...and didn't plan in a rest day before the cruise and we were all totally tired that first day on the ship). Anyways...After all my rambling...I've LOVED reading your TR, Pre-TR and I can't wait to read your next TR

Glad you liked the notecard idea and also glad you found those deals at the Disney store, could you believe that polo for less than 3 dollars!!!! I didn't see those other Tiki shirts, wish I would have. I am COMPLETEL Yjealous that you guys get to go on a Disney cruise, I've always wanted to. . .. .someday:cloud9: As for TGM, I love it and swear by his touring plans. We never do parks on EMH and get there at rope drop and use his touring plans and NEVER wait longer than 5 minutes. Have a GREAT trip! I'm gonna send you a PM:goodvibes

Lesley,

Thanks so much for raving about TGMike. I ordered it 2 hours ago and I just took a break from reading to write you a note. :)

I can't believe how helpful his plans are. At first I was a little overwhelmed, but I'm getting the hang of it, plus I have 160 days to go...I still have to change my ticker. It will fly by, but now I have TGMike planning to keep me busy.

I honestly learn something new EVERY time I am on that site, learned several new things this week for our trip that I am so excited about. I find the forums on there VERY helpful and oftenwill post my itineraries there for others to help me with touring plans, so if you feel overwhelmed, head there. I also like looking at others touring plans to get ideas off of. The thread "TGM tips/tricks" thread is great too because it is TGM's tips that others have used successfully on their trips, I just love that site! So glad you are enjoying it too!
Lesley

Lesley,
My husband saw your notecards and he told me you are as bad as I am! I told him I couldn't be the only one for several years now, but he didn't believe me until today. Also, I must say TGM is the best. We have it 3 times now and will always subscribe. I don't know what my kids would do if they ever had to wait in a real line at WDW! You're almost to single digits, YEAH!!

Hi Leslie! :cheer2:
Well by the time you read this it will only be 10 days left for you! :cool1: I have to say that if we go back to Disney next summer (or the year after) I definately want to try TGM. My main strategy this year is just going early and using FP and BS. We also arent doing all the headliners. :confused3 I'll just have to see how it goes.
I am really looking forward to our June trips. Hopefully we can meet up on Monday the 18th. The only thing that would keep us from DTD is if our room isnt ready by 3 pm. I was hoping to arrive, enjoy POR, swim, eat etc. Then when we get our room (hopefully by 2), get ready for the evening and head by boat to DTD. Walk around a bit, meet you guys hopefully, shop, and then head over to Poly for our ADR's (6pm):yay: Well, thats the plan on my handy dandy laminated itinerary :rotfl: What actually happens is a mystery! :thumbsup2

Glad you've gotten good use out of TGM too, it is just soooo cool not to wait in the crowded lines, I wouldn't trade it for the world. Glad you DH knows that you aren't the only crazy Disney lady out there now ;)
Lesley

o.k. so today it is only 11 days :cool1: until the smile won't be able to be wiped off of my face as we step onto Disney property :goodvibes

Got some more done today. I went to the store and picked up the rest of the items on our list. We needed some snacks to pack in the suitcases (fruit chewies, etc) so I got those. I realized in doing laundry the kids needed a little more underwear, I also got 2 activity books for each kid for the plane, here is a picture of that new stuff:
Photo2-4.jpg

I also started getting my little quart size carry on baggie ready with our "liquid" stuff in it:
Photo1-5.jpg

I also decided not to cram all of the carry on stuff (food/gum for the plane, activity books, gameboy, etc.) into the carry on I planned on bringing on that was going to be our parks bag for the trip and that arrival day. I think I'm gonna load up Luke's backpack with the plane only stuff so I don't have to keep condensing what I bring in our day bag, I'll get that done tonight.
I also got the money in our mousekeeping envelopes so those are all ready to go.
Look at this too:
Photo3-3.jpg

I wish I could tell you this was Luke's gameboy and we found it, but it is the neighbors who said we could borrow it, Luke was SOOOO thrilled. (of course this was AFTER I already bought his activity books today, but oh well, I'm sure he'll do a little of both).
Well, gotta run I'm gonna try to organize the carry on stuff. 11 days!!!
Oh, by the way if you want a good laugh, check out accuweather.com We will get there on June 14th, you''ll see what I mean when you look at it. (I know the forecast will change, always does, but it's pretty freakin' ironic;) )
Everyone have a GREAT Monday.
Lesley

WOW - only 13 days left. They will fly by and you will be writing your trip report before you know it.

How long are you going to be gone for this time?

I just looked at Accuweather. I can't believe that. It's not just the 14th it's all of the days. Hopefully it will change. I hope y'all have a great trip. I know you will. I'm glad that someone had a gameboy y'all could borrow. You'll find it after ya get back. :rotfl:
