Tim and Lesley Year of Million Compromises/TONS pics- 8/5 help me pg. 164!!!

Hold on Lesley....on Mon the 18th we will be in DTD probably around the time you have your BBB appointment (4pm). Do you still have it then??? or did your schedule change??? Let me know! Maybe we could meet up?? :goodvibes

I dont put it on notecards, but as you are aware, i have it all neatly typed in microsoft word! lol

Love the note card idea. I just found spiral bound note cards with a plastic cover at WalMart today and plan to do the same thing for our trip in Sept. Question (if you don't mind): how soon before we go are show times listed? I noticed on your MGM card you had times for Beauty & Beast show. Where did you find that info, and when will it be accurate for a late Sept. trip?

BTW, you trip report from last year was the first I ever read and got me HOOKED! Your kiddos are cuties.

Thanks for sharing your planning tips, Lesley! I have done it at the WDW site, and in the passporter, which we will review together to see what everyone most wants to do - maybe I should get a little notebook - but my DSIS wants to non-commando it - so I don't think we'll get a schedule set, just the FP at every chance.

I have got to get busy :laundy: and packing - I am so swamped with work, and then went to the dentist - two days of pain - not helpful:sad2: Oh well, tomorrow will be better!

Lesley, I love reading about your planning. I just had to giggle a bit when I saw your note cards. I do the very same thing, but I never thought to laminate them. I guess once their laminated its a set plan. LOL I cant wait to hear from you when you return.
So glad I'm not alone out there. I laminated them because with our experience it rains A LOT in June (last year we were there during a tropical storm, and heck we were there so we still went to the parks) I wanted to be able to still read them in the rain : )
Lesley

Lesley - thanks for posting the new TSA rules. We went last August about a week after they started the no liquids thing. I am just going to avoid the whole thing and bring normal sized bottles but put them in my luggage. I figure 5 people for a week would go thru a lot of shampoo and soap. I would end up bringing three or four little travel bottles...lol....I will just scrap that plan. ;) Did you see the Stalking thread where DM put everyone schedule up day by day??? That way you can see who is where which day! I dont think our schedules overlapped however :guilty: but here's to a great :cheer2: trip for you and your family!!!! :thumbsup2
Glad the rules helped you, I didn't realize it had to be a quart sized baggie so I'm glad I looked it up. I'm going to do one baggie with my liquid foundation makeup, sunscreen and toothpaste since we'll be arriving early and hitting the parks right away. I will check out the schedules on the stalking thread : )

Yes :thumbsup2 , we are doing Laurens BBB then so if you are around stop in and say hi!

That's true, forgot about that. It's funny you mention that, I showed Tim my cards last night and he immediately tried to start typing them up, I told him they were done, don't worry about it, I'll be the only one reading them anyways, he was complaining about my handwriting and how messy they look, oh well ;)

That is a great idea with the WalMart idea. I get my showtimes from the Stevesoars website, actually it's only through June 2nd right now but I'm assumming it will be the same as our trip, here is the link: http://pages.prodigy.net/stevesoares/
Glad you enjoy the TR's they sure are fun to write!

You are quite welcome. 4 days!!!! Wow, you do need to get busy packing. I understand about being swamped at work, Unfortunately my teacher work day is the day before we leave so I don't even get a full day off before we head out, oh well, I'll get it done, I always do. Sorry about the dentist, OUCH! Have a GREAT trip!!!!
Lesley

O.K., so the countdown is at 15 days (but who is counting :rotfl2: )

I have been a busy girl today. Of course I had work but during my lunch I posted here on the Dis and on Tour Guide Mike about touring plans for parks, cookie demonstrations at Epcot and sending water to the resort via/ Costco. I got wonderful answers as usual so then during I finalized my itinerary and put each day on a notecard. I know I know, Lesley is a total Disney dork, but I feel it is so much easier to go into each park each day with a plan. Each trip we compile a list of what we REALLY want to see this trip and then I go and get organized and put it on cards. No one in the family really see's the organization we just kind of get to the park and I look at my card and say "o.k, we need to head here and grab a FP, let's go ride this, etc." the kids just are happy they get to see everything they wanted to see and we always get it all done in the mornings in time for the afternoon break.
So now all of our days (I only do this for our mornings, evenings are basically meals, a ride or two and a parade, fireworks, or Fantasmic) are on cards. Here they are people (just to prove that I am insane enough to do this):
Photo1-4.jpg

What you can't see is the back of each card has Tour Guide Mike's best view locations for each parade, show, etc. I know, I know, too organized, but it helps us so much! I feel really good about the plans and am sooo excited.
It is SUPER hot here in Ohio right now, low 90's and tons of humidity so I feel like I'm ready for the Orlando heat. We hit the pool today after I got off work to cool off.
Tim went to the bank today and got our final Disney money, so we now have all of our Disney spending money in cash or in Travelers Checks ALL READY TO GO (that feels good). I just unpacked our suitcases tonight from our West Virginia trip and have a huge laundry pile to tackle so I can start putting clothes into luggage for Disney.
I plan on shipping 2 cases of water from Costco next week (they told me to do it 7 days before we arrive) too. I still have lots of shopping to do so I'll update that when the time comes.
I still call Disney dining EVERY day to see if a Fantasmic package has opened up for the 21st, still no luck, hopefully someone will cancel soon, if not, oh well.
15 days, I can't believe it!!!!! :cheer2:  I am SOOOOO excited. I can't wait to get off of that plane and step into that bus to our resort, can't wait to see POFQ for the first time, then get on the bus to MGM!!!! So much to look forward too!!!!!

Lesley, I didn't get what you meant by laminating...now I do. :) What an awesome idea. 14 days so excited for you.

We had to push our trip from Aug to Nov due to dh's work (he has a large contract that he has to babysit over the summer). :sad1: I should be happy because it will now be more spending money, but now we have to wait 3 more months. Now I have do my schedule ALL OVER...I'm going to get TGMike now.

I'm sure you have tons left to do. I'm looking forward to reading your trip report when you come back.

Great lists Lesley! I read you mentioned Jr. Chef at Epcot, I know you're reading my report but I posted about 10 pictures from Jr. Chef on the report. 2 WEEKS!:cool1: So excited for you!:cool1: Must be so hard still working though! Hang in there!:thumbsup2

Love the notecards - yours are much easier to read than mine (I just used the 4-neon-color spiral-bound index cards) ... I'll just save this link as "What I'll do next time".

We are outta here tomorrow, so I'll eat lots of Mickey bars for everyone! :rolleyes1

Lesley, What a neat idea with those cards! I have never thought of that before. Too late for me to pull it together now, besides my kids are teens and they have already told me to only wake them up early if it involves breakfast! :rotfl: Oh well, they snooze, they lose!

Can't wait to read your TR when you get back!

We leave in 2 days!!!!!!

Bummer about having to push your trip back, but yes, more spending money is always a good thing. Enjoy TGMike, you will learn a lot.

I can't believe we are down to 13 days!!!!! :cool1: :yay:

I am just soooooooo excited.
We've been getting a lot done. Tim is slammed doing graduation DVD's for his DVD slideshow business (oh yes, he does DVD slideshows professionally, D.J's professionally, works for 800 flowers and is a stay at home dad, pretty awesome huh) I am busy with work and University of Phoenix plus trying to start packing.
Tim took my "things to buy before the trip" list and headed to Target with the kids yesterday. He got all the travel size stuff we needed (deoderant, sunscreen, toothpaste) and I have them in our quart size baggie for the airport. HE got the juice boxes, pull up's for Lauren (still wears them at night) , snacks for the plane, gum for the plane, wet wipes for the day bag (they even had Mickey on them) dramamine, etc. What a guy  I still need some big sunscreen, more mousse and hairspray for the trip.
I got Lauren's Belle Dress out and washed off, her Belle shoes don't fit anymore, oh well, white sandals will work and be more comfy anyway. i plan on having her wear that to her BBB appointment, she is so excited about it.
I let Lauren cross the days off the countdown calendar this morning, she is sooooo excited too.
I got the notecards out and went over the plans with the kids they are thrilled. Luke keeps asking me what we are doing step by step the first day.
We have our coffee mug of change going, it's more than half full, we will cash that in sometime next week and see where we stand.
I still need to go to the bank and get singles for the mousekeeping envelopes and piece those together.
I went to Hallmark last night and got my F-day cards bought so I can put them in the mail for my dad and grandpa before we leave and take Tim's with us with his SUPER AWESOME SURPRISE F-day gift tucked inside, he's gonna be soooo excited - you'll have to check out the TR for what it is.popcorn::
Oh well, gotta run. 13 days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:cool1:
Lesley

Hey! I havent checked in a while--Love your notecards! They are very organized and it doesn't make me look as crazy because I do the same thing, PLAN, PLAN, PLAN!
I show DBF things like this on the DIS all the time just to prove that the way we plan isn't absolutley insane. I think he is secretly scared because that means there are more "me's" out there running around! :lmao:

And way to go Tim! That was very nice of him to go shopping for you and the kids~! You are a very lucky lady, missy! :goodvibes

13 DAYS!! :cool1:  I cant believe it!!!

Wow and I was getting excited about 72 days!

Not long now...I'll be reading your Trip Report before I even go! Darn taking summer classes is NOT going to be fun! Good this WDW is my reward!

So excited for you!!

We have a 4-month calendar in our kitchen.. we got to erase May... and put up September.. which meant we got to write DISNEY VACATION on it!!!:cool1: :cool1: Now we can "SEE" it coming.

I will be so into your TR, as it will help me pass the days until mine!

Have fun getting ready!
