Tim and Lesley Year of Million Compromises/TONS pics- 8/5 help me pg. 164!!!

The final day we are at Magic Kingdom I made a ressie for the Plaza, I have wanted to try it since the yummy pictures on the food pic thread (food porn ;) thread is what we call it:rotfl: ) but didn't want to use dining credits for it since it is rather inexpensive. I decided to add it and got an 11:50 lunch time for that final MK day, should be a nice lunch to sit down and relax for, then catch the 3:00 parade before getting on the bus back to POFQ to catch Magical Express to the airport:guilty:
Lesley

Good decision. A little magic happened for us a few years back at this restaurant. My DD (she was about 2 1/2 at the time) was and still is a very picky eater. (For example, her diet at that time included mac & cheese, grilled cheese, cheese, oh did I mention mac & cheese??). Well, you get the point. We stopped at the Plaza for lunch and they did not have M&C on the menu and the grilled cheese had yellow cheese and not white cheese (did I say picky?). The waiter noticed how upset my DD was. He took it upon himself to go to Crystal Palace and bring back a big plate of M&C for my DD. Boy, did he get a BIG TIP!!!

So, great decision. This restaurant also gets visits from the "Mayor" and we happen to see him every time we visit this restaurant.

Hey Lesley,

I know today was going to be a crazy workday for you. Just was thinking about you and sending:goodvibes Hope it all worked out! have a great weekend!:thumbsup2

Well, I'm not going to re-post my entire itinerary but I did make one more addition today. I figured while I had Disney dining on the phone I might as well right :confused3 :rotfl:

Excellent choice!:thumbsup2
We ate there on our last day. It was an unplanned ADR...we just walked up and were seated immediately. It was yummy! :cloud9:

Thanks, actually it was yesterday and it turned out o.k. thanks so much for thinking of me today.
Today we had a Special Olympics event down at UC, it was SO cool, the kids had an awesome time.

Very cool, glad I added this then, thanks for the positive comments about it.

O.K, so I have been reading these threads a lot tonight and keep reading how non-kid friendly LeCellier is. How long the meal takes, how the menu has changed, no cool kids deserts or good meal options, etc. etc. This worries me bc last year we ate at Alfredo's and while the food was excellent the meal took FOREVER, I took the VERY ANTSY kids outside of the restaraunt at the meal while Tim waited (and waited) for the bill. I remember this being super stressful and feel LeCellier may be the same way. Any thoughts? We're already doing Coral Reef one night. Teppenyaki our other favorite is closed while we are there. Any thoughts???? HELP!
Lesley

Lesley, don't cancel le Cellier yet. Make a backup ADR if you get good suggestions, but we are going in early May with two kids, including a very restless 5 year old, so I will let you know what our experience is to help you decide. It probably depends on your server anyway, but hang on to that tough ADR until you get closer in. :woohoo:

Lesley...I feel the same way as previous poster! Don't cancel... take one for your fans:cool1: We want to know what you think before our trip. That way I will know whether to cancel ours in August!

Also the Plaza is awesome! We had a great dinner there two years ago- good service and food.

We are also going to Le Cellier in May so I'll be sure to give a full report :)

Leslie, as the others have said... don't cancel... We went there last year w/ 3 kids 11, 2.5 and 6months and had no issues at all... and they do have some cute desserts... the "moose" and some kiddie cone...

We went last Oct to Le Cee Cellier and it was good. We have two kids, they were ds 3 and dd 6. The only problem we had last year was that we had to get late adrs (8:10) because no other adrs were available, so after the kids ate they fell asleep!

Our waitress was great and everything was good.

I can't remember what the desserts were, but I do remember that we took my dd back with us for her the next morning and she was excited to see and get it and I do remember it being cute.

Hope this helps:)

Hey Lesley! I finally started my pre-trip report!!! Hope to see you there (link's in my siggy!)

Whatever you do DON'T cancel Canada!!!! We ate there last May with our 3 year old and see did great. She loved the pretzel bread and cannot wait to eat there again in September.

O.K., O.K., you've convinced me We'll give it a try :confused3 :goodvibes .
Thanks so much for all of your reaffirming words and stories, might as well give it a try, who knows we may just LOVE IT, guess you'll have to read the TR to find out. ;)
Lesley

Lesley, I am glad that you are not cancelling your Le Cellier ressie. We love that place! My 2 year old did well there. Our server was great, too! I was sharing my meal with her and he saw that she wanted nothing to do with my food so her brought her some fries and then when he brought out our desserts he brought her a scoop of ice cream and some sprinkles to put on it.:goodvibes I hope you enjoy it as much as we did!:wizard:

Just getting caught up again!:surfweb: I am glad you decided to keep your ressies at LeCellier, we ate there last year and loved it and so did the kids who were 6&4 :thumbsup2

OT but I was curious if you lived anywhere near Piqua?
I graduated from Ohio University and my roommate was from Piqua? A small town from what I remember but I can't recall if it was closer to Dayton or Cinci?:confused3 I ask because she is a special education teacher as well and I know she is still in that area.

Sorry, I know this wasn't directed to me, but I live near Piqua. I actually live in Sidney the town directly north of Piqua. We're about 40 minutes north of Dayton. I am not a teacher though so I probably wouldn't know your roommate.

It's a small world afterall!

OMG!!!!! pant........ weeezzzz....... gasp......... I made it to the end!!! I started reading earlier this week. (Followed you from Blayne's TR) Haven't had a chance to read your previous TR. Will do that soon. I was just running so fast to catch up to you for this one.

Too many things to comment on... Great details!!! Would drive my DH crazy! Glad Tim is better.... Love the idea of mommy/daughter, daddy/son meals. May have to try that next time.

(deep breathe) OK - now I'm ready for more!
