I will have to add that I do not think you will need to pay OOP so much for any meals, since you are on the dining plan. We have used it 2x, both we were able to share some CS, thus giving us more than enough left at the end to get food for the plane ride home. Just a suggestion...to save you some money...so you can buy yourself some more suvies!

Thanks, that is my one worry, that is why I asked if people thought we should go through the international gateway and give the family friendly Spoodles a try (another one we haven't tried). Anyone have any oppinions on this??

Both are yummy! Our children were perfectly happy at both too. Spoodles menu was a bit less appealing to our kids...but that is pretty typical of many kiddos!

My family and I stayed there in August '06 and are staying there again this August. It is a very beautiful resort that is cozy and quaint. The bus system is very good, we never had to wait very long for a bus. I think your kids will love the pool. The slide looks very fun and there are character statues around that spray water. It is a very fun water. I'm sorry that you couldn't go to your home resort but I think you will like POFQ. Good Luck with the rest of your planning and your trip. I just have to comment on your pictures. They are lovely and seeing the steam from the humidity in your photos really puts me in the mood to travel in August.

I know it's hot, but we're in 20 degree weather up here and I'm looking forward to sweating for a day or 2. It's so dangerous looking at everyones photos, makes me want to change resorts every time.

Hi Lesley,

Just a quick (or I hope quick) question on TGM. Do you use him for Animal Kingdom (or does he even provide this?) I'm pretty much done with our schedule for August, but AK always seems to be a problem for us and we're seeing the whole park this trip (come heck or high water). We've been 3 times and have yet to see more than 4 attractions each visit. It seems like each time we go, it's either too brutally hot or the lines are too long. Last year it was hot combined with LOVEBUGS...ickky.

Do you have a general "plan of attack?"

Oh yes, he has awesome touring plans for AK and we use them every year and it really helps us get through this park in one day. I HIGHLY recommend him. Actually, if you go back several pages in this trip report I listed our blow by blow day at AK, if you can't find it or have more specific questions please pm me or email me: timandlesley@cinci.rr.com

I'm so sorry, you know,when I realized we were missing Star Wars Days and had to change Father's day, I thought of you guys immediately. I KNOW we will run into eachother though, and am looking forward to it, hopefully that night at Spectro, we will be at the TGM spot, so DEFINITELY look for us!!!!

Many years ago, when my boys were young, we used to stay at POFQ. I think it's a great resort for young kids. The pool and slide are fantastic for young kids, and they loved the boat ride to DTD. I'm glad I've not made our TR public yet since I've just changed about 3 adrs and park days. Plus I may change our dates by one day.

Thank you so much! I just went through all the pages and found it. I'm actually going to invest the $20 in TGM. I figure, if anything, it will only help my current schedule, especially given we are going at a busier time (August) than September when we typically go. I read his plans may be a little overwhelming at first which is why I was up in the air, but I think it will give me something to do while I wait 5 months for our vacation to get here.

I can change everything but the resort. I'm done with that...I think I changed it 4 times total. DH asked me this morning where we were staying again because I changed it so many times. I'm terrible.

All your changes crack me up, I would probably be doing the same thing if it weren't for the fact that we have friends joining us for the trip. I don't want to freak her DH out more than I already have He told her...she does realize we are on vacation right??? LOL Yep we are on vacaton for 5 days at the beach after we do WDW!!

Soooo funny, this is the first time I've disclosed my craziness to the public : ) I'm used to the trip reports only. Actually this is my MILDEST by far as far as changing is concerned, last year it was OUT OF CONTROL

That is why I like to travel alone, my parents got a sense of my determination at Disney last year and I ended up having to take a night off if you recall from my trip report, not my idea .
We did the beach prior to our trip last year, it was awesome.

My latest question is the baking activity in the Land, I read about it on another thread,my kids would love this. Anyone have kids who have gone?? Any tips, where is it, etc.??

Honestly, I wouldn't change your choice. POR is our absolute favorite resort and you are going to LOVE POFQ - it's so pretty and quaint. The only reason we booked WL (initially, yes I changed it), was because we got a promotion in the mail that offered 40% of the room. First we booked AKL, then WL, then POR out of guilt, and we're finally at BWI because we visited there last trip and LOVED the atmosphere. Plus, we spend a lot of our time at Epcot and it's close to MGM too. Since we drive down and like our car close by, we just didn't think WL would be convenient enough for us. It looks so beautiful and I hope we didn't make a mistake switching though. Your photos of the resort are so nice.

DH said he didn't understand why we just didn't go back to POR, but I really wanted to try a newer deluxe (and I've become quite FRUGAL), so this is a big step spending the extra money. We always stayed at the CR or Poly when we were younger, but I personally think POR is just as nice. I know people will disagree with me.

I'm starting to get excited!!!
