TikiMan - Your opinion Please - LV or LV concierge

Hi tikiman,

Your website made my decision on splitting my stay with AKL concierge.

However, I am really torn. We have never stayed at the Polynesian. This is a dream vacation for us since DMIL is treating for the trip. We are a party of 7, so we would need 2 rooms.

My dilema, I currently have 2 lagoon views booked. Staying concierge at AKL, have the concierge bug. I know that Poly Lagoon View concierge is quite more expensive. Since I've never stayed at the Polynesian, should I just do the lagoon view, do garden view concierge, or bite my MIL bullet and do lv concierge if I can get a good AP rate. (don't even know what they are yet).

I would do the LV concierge but if not be sure to do the lagoon view standard. We don't spend much time in the room and I still think it is worth every penny.

Having never been to the Polynesian, I would'nt want anything but lagoon view. This is why I think I'd be disappointed taking garden view, just to get concierge.

I think I'm requesting Tahiti. Now only to decide, do I want a balcony or patio. With a 2 year old and a 4 year old maybe the patio.

I'll be doing concierge at the AKL, so I guess I'll leave Poly concierge for our next trip.

Well I think either is good. I like the patio so I can go to the beach but I enjoy the rooms with the balcony also.

Funny,

my husband wonders why I enjoy Disney, when I have to work so hard on planning. He's hysterical watching me with my big calendar and all the parades listed with what parks on what days and what priority seatings for each day.

But I really want to thank you for your site. It truly is wonderful and really did make me choose the Poly for my split stay.


Now if I could just figure out what parks to do on what days.

Hi Lizzie64, I know your post was to Tikiman but, I thought this might help....... I have a reservation for August 2003 and I got a rate of $201.00 per night for garden view only which after reading so many posts about this and seeing the wonderful pictures on Tikiman's website I decided to upgrade to LV with patio. I wanted to stay at GV concierge but the rate was too high for me $295.25 per night. This price was with a code the CM used for me however, she didn't give me the code. What you can do is just ask if there are any LV rooms available with a code you can use. The CM's are very helpful and you might get lucky!

I already have my lagoon view room booked with a AAA code. which is the same as the DC club. Those are the only codes available right now.

I will also have an AP so when that comes out (hopefully soon) or the next set of codes the rates should come down some more.

I think the lagoon view is too important to me, so the only way I'd do concierge is LV concierge, and from what I've read that is astronomically more expensive that garden view concierge.
