I think he did what he had to d for his career.

I don't understand why this is a top news story over a plane crashing into a federal building by a suicide bomber.

I also heard someone on the radio today say, Tiger Woods is not a hero, he is a golf player. A hero is someone who runs into a burning building and carries out a child.

Why did he need 13+minutes just to say "I'm Sorry I messed up. Please forgive me." That was all he needed to say.

And the poll needs the option: "Don't care".

:thumbsup2

There's more worthier heroes than a washed up golf player.

I think an apology is hollow when the action you are apologizing for purposely happened over and over and over again over a long period of time.

My feeling about this is "who cares!" It doesn't effect my life or anyone who is not related to Woods. I enjoy watching him play golf and that's all. I couldn't care less who he sleeps with. I wish he'd just get back to hitting that little white ball.

If he was truly sorry he would have stopped cheating after the first fling, but he did not! He is only doing this to go out and make more money. I would not be surprised when Elin divorces him and takes a good chunk of his cash with her. He is only sorry he got caught!! if he was truly sorry, why would he need to tell her on national television?

I'll admit I was impressed with what he said. He admitted to feeling entitled and that he thought he could get away with anything. He also apologized to the parents of kids who saw him as a role model. That said, if I was his wife, I'd be history.

You said it better than I. ITA.

I guess I kind of see him as an underdog now (granted of his own making). He's the butt of a lot of jokes. Taken a very, very big fall. I'd like to see him work his way back to golf.

A sincere apology would have been made privately to his wife, after the first time it happened, before he got caught. Now she'll never know if he's really sorry or just sorry he got found out...or if it'd still be going on if he hadn't been found out. If he didn't want to discuss it when it first happened, why talk publicly about it now? IMO it's much more to do with damage control for his image than with repairing his marriage - a press conference really shouldn't have anything to do with the work he needs to do to try to make things right with his family. I'd probably have more respect for him if he didn't do the conference and just issued a simple statement - when it first happened - that he was continuing to work on things privately.
