Just booked Tiffany Town Car for pickup at Orlando Airport and for round trip transfer from ASMovies to Sea World.

Anyone ridden with them and have any good or bad comments?

Thanks.

I have used them several times and had good service every time. Of course, it was with TT that I had my first Orlando car accident though. We were at one of the toll booths and an older lady in the car behind us felt that we should have moved more quickly and rear-ended the towncar!!! But, our driver handled it nicely and we were on our way. I would never hesitate to recommend them, although their office staff can be a bit on the gruff side if you have any reason to talk to them!!! Others have complained about that.

You're not kidding - I talked to a real grump of a woman earlier today! Then again, I've noticed that when calling any of the other town car services in Orlando.

What is up with that?

Must be the heat!!! But, then again, I've gotten surliness from office help at the limo companies in the fall and winter also. Perhaps the towncar people should look to their front office people and make some changes...might make the customers happier about booking with them!!

Big Tiffany fan here too. I have never spoken to the "gruff" woman at dispatch, but have spoken to a couple of very pleasant men. Once I called them to let them know that although our flight from ATL to MCO was on time (the one they were tracking), we would not be on it as our connection was late (no problem, they said. Just let them know which flight we were put on -- AND they still did a grocery stop for us even though we were close to 2 hours late :)). Another time I called because our flight was very late, and I wanted to make sure they were tracking it -- which they were. Our flight was supposed to land just before 11 pm, but we didn't wind up at baggage claim till 1:45 am -- our driver was waiting for us patiently and was very pleasant. :) Don't forget to print their $5 r/t coupon.

Well, didn't someone post that Edd in the "buses aren't safe" board works for Tiffany? Between that and rude front desk.. I'd find someone new...

These companies are suppose to be fighting for thier lives... maybe they should be POLITE!!! (What a concept.. keeping customers by service)

We've used Tiffany for many years and have had woonderful service from them each and every trip to Disney. They have always been prompt meeting us in baggage claim with a smile. I have used their towncar, limo and vans for getting to and from MCO and the resorts. We have also used them to go to and back from Universal/IOA. I would definetly recommend them.

We have used TTC 7-8 times in the last 5 years and will continue to do so. Most recent experience was within the last week...pickup at MCO 5/19 - our flight was delayed an hor but the driver (MArk) was right there and no problem with the grocery stop. Had a somewhat curt (but factual) response when I called to confirm pickup at the Swan the day before our 5/23 return, but Mark was there 10 minutes ahead of our pickup time. :thumbsup2

I agree they all should have lessons in making the customer feel valued on the phone....but the one time I tried a different company for a better price on a van (too many people for a towncar that trip) although they were nice, they messed up the reservation and were not there to meet us, driver who eventually arrived after phone calls did not have the other details straight (car seat and grocery stop) and then on the return leg they were 15 minutes late picking us up. I'll stick w/TTC unless the service itself slips!

I used Florida Town Car for many trips and just loved them. Friendly drivers, prompt pickups, meet and greet, etc. In March of 2005 I decided to use Tiffany because they were a little bit cheaper. Never again. Our flight was delayed by about a half hour. The driver was not at the bottom of the escalator for the meet and greet, and when he did show up, he was surly and impatient. My daughter had flown on a different flight, and he was upset because we had to find her. Then he was fidgeting and looking at his watch because our luggage was slow coming off the conveyor. I finally told him to cool his jets - this was not OUR fault, and he should be used to airline delays. He was more civil then and the trip proceeded without incident, but it was a damper on the trip nonetheless.

We used TTC on our last trip and were very satisfied. Our arrival driver was Inez, and she was absolutely wonderful. Not sure if she is still with the company, but I requested her when I made the ressie for this year.

We love Tiffany Towncar. We are a family of 5 and always request our favorite driver, Berkley Edwards and the van. He is always prompt, courteous, efficient and friendly. He even let me borrow his book once and gave me a little cd to listen to. He stops at the hess mini mart for us for our soda stock up. Our ds have a tradition to open a box and give him an iced tea. We also did a poly to universal one day thing, we didnt have him but had another tiffany driver with a van who was also very prompt and efficient. I have never had a problem with them. Even accomodated us when our flight was delayed and changed times etc.

We love TTC:love: and will continue to use them. They were always on time and very pleasant and helpful. I remember after dropping my DH and I off at the RPR our driver asked if we had any coupons. I left mt passporter home :rolleyes2 which included an $8 coupon off roundtrip fare with them. He was so nice he let me have the discount anyway. I know $8 dollars is not a big deal to some...but every little bit counts when your vacationing in FL.

Edd does not work for Tiffany! Someone reported that and was plain deceitful in his report. Tiffany is a good company and treats their passengers well. They are a group of individual drivers working hard to make a living. There are some bum drivers in the town car and limousine fleets, but just like everyone else, including Disney, they usually weed themselves out before long. If you have any complaints, air them with the company and on the Disboards for everyone to find out.
Anyone in these boards who try top sway your decision is probably what I call a Disney troll or token. These people can be distinguished by their ridiculous number of posts each year. They stretch the truth. The one I am answering has over 11,000 of them. Some of the canned expressions like, driver was on the phone 95 percent of the time and I got in two accidents are just that. If you asked that person the name of the company or driver they couldn't tell you.
Have a good time in Orlando. Whoever you choose to get you to Disney will go out of his way to make your family happy, whether it be Disney or a driver not associated with Disney. The Disney trolls tend to favor Disney highly and put down everything else around. Remember it is your choice. If you experience a grumpy person ask them to act better and you will get results.

EDD....I do remember you did say you had friends working for TTC, not yourself, so calm down on that one.
As far as those who seem to be Disney fanatics, with a huge posting count...I guess I fit the bill. I have also had drivers on the phone, and had an accident while using TTC. But, and I repeat it for you here, when I was riding with TTC and had that accident it was not the drivers fault!! It was the woman behind us who rammed us!!
In order to have a fair and unbiased board, we have to accept all opinions, whether we personally agree with them or not. Everyone has a different experience and as long as they state their experience honestly then most of us here have no issues with it.
Do I use DME rather than a towncar service? Yes, I have. But, I will be using a towncar in Dec...sharing one in fact with 2 other DISers. We just want a change. I have had good service with DME, as well as most of the towncar companies I have used. I have had bad customer service from the offices of TTC...but I have loved the drivers.
Please be careful about calling others 'trolls'...some of us say the same thing over and over because they are true. I believe that when someone said that you were employed by TTC they just misread your post...that's all. Hopefully, this won't insult or offend you ...that is not my intent. I just want to state some plain and simple truths about this board!!!

Diane,

The one thing I dislike is everyone knocking towncar and limousine companies. These companies provide excellent service to and from Disney. This service has been in business for almost 35 years. Disney is not the only one down here. There are a few bad drivers in all the fleets including the Disney fleets, and an individual bad driver should be reported to the companies and the disboards. You talk about the bad drivers or the ones on the cell phone and you don't even get a name or company. In that way the drivers will be eliminated or starved out. Someone talked about the rough receptionist but no one seem to be able to get a name or call the company back and complain. I don't buy those comments. They are not proven facts. I call that gosssip.
Everyone, including myself, is down here to provide to the visitors of Orlando and the theme parks with an exceptional vacation experience and we don't like to get knocked by the Disney tokens, who, in a lot of cases, have visited the central Florida area, or the Disney parks, on less than 10 or 15 occasions. I was there the third day Disney opened and do have a lot of time visiting Disney, so I am no rookie.
Your post didn't offend me. The statements made by the "tokens" offended me deeply. What they said and stretched about me was completely false. The only way to make these boards creditable is to speak the truth to the visitors who are looking for a very honest answer. Being negative is not the answer.

Edd

I am referring to some of the negative posts made by CarolA.

Thanks for the 'calm' response Edd. I do appreciate it. I have to say that I have, myself, been on the receiving end of the woman at TTC's office. Since it was awhile ago, I can't remember her name..perhaps Mary? When I did mention it to our driver, he said.."Oh she's pregnant and gets cranky!!" But, again, that was probably about 5 years ago and she is most likely no longer there.
I do realize that the towncar services offer a wonderful service. And there are many travelers out there who still want to use these services. But, you have to realize that there is also a large contingent of travelers, on a budget, that can use that $140 on food while at WDW rather than on a ride to their resort. If this is their choice, they shouldn't be made to feel as if they are 'against' the towncar companies. Since Disney has made this service free, there are going to be a lot of people using it. However, I do think that a lot of these people are the same people that used Mears or a taxi in the past.
As I said, I have used DME some 4 times now, in the past year. And I have liked it every time. But, for my trip in Dec, I will be using a towncar service. And perhaps one in Oct. We have 4 people traveling and I certainly don't want to spend a small fortune getting back and forth to the airport!!! We'll see what I can come up with price wise.
But, again....most will appreciate your committment to providing travelers with good service. Just be sure you aren't 'negative' regarding DME, as you have mentioned others being regarding the towncar services.

It's all about making choices...what works for one person isn't going to work for another person. That isn't to say that one choice is better than another one. As long as we can offer up our individual experiences, honestly and objectively, this board will continue to give the best transportation advice out there!!!!! :teeth:

I used Tiffany last year for my honeymoon trip -- no problems at all :thumbsup2 I will be using them again for my trip in January.

They picked us up promptly from MCO/Disney and had a grocery stop on the way....very happy with the service.

We tried Tiffany and Happy (and Mears) and have decided to rent cars instead.
Both services have inattentive drivers who spend more time on their cell phones than looking at the road, and too many times they have had us waiting nrevously at our hotel wondering when they would show up. Once Tiffany did not show up at all!

The good points:
As for picking us up at the airport, they were always there on time.
Our drivers were always friendly.
Door to door service.

Renting a car costs less, is more flexible, and is about as quick if you rent from one of the companies that are located in the airport.

Diane,

I think you may be a little generous with your money. Most transportation companies charge around $100.00 roundtrip. You can save that much when you buy groceries, including water, beer, coke and breakfast goods, outside the parks. There is a Walmart close to Disney and their prices are not jacked up because they are close to Disney. Seems to me the people on a budget would prefer to have breakfast and snacks stashed in the rooms for the kids. There have been many times I fixed peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and carried them to the park to save money and even time.

Edd

PS: It bugs me when you pay a bunch of money for a kid to eat and he takes a bite or two and is to excited to eat the rest. You are better off having a bunch of junk food around to feed them until you get to a stable meal.
