I have had situations where the driver wasn't there, at the bottom of the escalator. But it wasn't with TT. I have always had a good experience with them. I have had less than cheery experiences with the office staff though. I did have one driver who was not very chatty...downright non-talkative. But for the return he was very outgoing. I guess everyone can have an off day. But, I have had a situation where my dh had to go in search of the driver. We walked, back and forth, looking at the signs. We were nowhere to be found. Finally after a bit, my dh went outside, and there was our driver, having a smoke. Now, our flight was right on time, no delays, not early. I'm glad I had the forsight to go and get the bags while he went in search.
Then for our return to the airport, dh had to once again, go in search. We were at BW and he driver was parked way down by the bus stop. We had gotten out there about 5 mins early, but when 10-15 mins went by, again dh went off to find the car. Other cars were parked waiting at the front door.
But, as for those drivers that don't hold up signs...they drive me nuts. I went to the Dolphin last Dec...so no DME for me. When the time came to be picked up to return to the airport, I sat there, out front waiting. Car after car came and passed by me...they all had name signs. Finally, a towncar drove up and asked if I was ready. Ah, and who might you be? I wondered. I asked him who he was there to pick up. He told me 'You!'....ah, no, not getting in a car with you until you tell me, by name, who you are looking for. When I asked again, he said I had arrived at the Dolphin with my friend and the other girl had gone to BWV first. And after he picked me up he was going to BW to pick her up. And then he gave me my name!! Told him a girl can't be too careful in this day and age. But, it didn't make me feel all warm and fuzzy, that's for sure.
