Have fun guys. I have a horrible cold, thank god not h1n1  I'll be carving my pumpkin, hope to do a good job. Take care, happy tie dyeing.

OMG! I am going tonight to buy my stuff! This is an awesome thread!!! Love everyone's pics!!Wish me luck! we are going on first trip and first MVMC party I am going to try to make shirts!!:yay:

Can someone tell me what bump means I am a newbie?:rotfl:

Bump means when the thread is at the bottom someone will post just bump so the thread will be up on top and not lost for others to find it. Each time someone post in a thread it keeps it new and on top.

I have a question, Hubby says he will wear one but he had to have a shirt with a pocket on the front. Will a pocket mess up the dyeing?

Not at all. I have done shirts with pockets, so it would be just fine.

Two things.....shirts are soaking in soda ash since yesterday afternoon....will be elastizing (coined word) and dyed this afternoon....I'll keep you all up to date with pics to follow.

PixieDust32....thank you so much for your detailed instructions which were very easy to follow. Being a crafter/sewer, I do appreciate when someone takes the time to share. It's disconcerting when people don't want/try to help others. I have another question....I have the outline ( side view ) of Mickey's face, with his nose visible. Do you think that, following the same premise with the basting, that the design will be visible or will his nose get lost in the design? I probably didn't describe this correctly but I hope you get the general idea.

Thanks for you help...

Hi, there, thank you, happy to help.

Yes, you can do that one too, same steps, make sure you pull everything out/up real good. I did one like that and it works great with darker colors, like navy, turquoise, even red, the lighter colors would blend with the white or the rest of the colors and it would not show as nice. Good Luck.

Oh my God!! My shirts came out great!! I did take some pics which I'll try to list tomorrow. Thanks, so much, Pixie for your help and support!

Awesome!! Cannot wait to see the pics!! You're so welcome, anytime.

That's the best one of the five we did. There wasn't enough color in the rest of the shirts, too much white remained, but we think they were too tightly twisted. Plus, next time we're planning to use liquid de rather than powder.

Thanks, again, Roxy for all your help and support. We couldn't have done it without you!!

Very cool! Nice defined Mickey heads! We had the same problem with too much white.

Great job! Your mouse came out super :thumbsup2 mmm maybe next time squeeze the bottle into the folds for less white.

Thanks for sharing

I can't wait to try it again!! Unfortunately, or fortunately for me, my equipment is all packed up, as we leave for the south for the winter. Within a very few days we'll be 15/20 minutes west of WDW....I am so psyched!!
