Tickets won't come in time

My step mother ordered Disney tickets that will be delivered "by the 23rd" to our home in celebration. The problem is that my family is arriving on the 21st and our first day will be the 22nd. I don't want to sound ungrateful for the fact that she's buying our tickets, so I couldn't say anything to her, but now I will need to buy tickets to use on the first day we're there. My question is this: She's ordering five day hopper tickets. We'll be there five days and plan on using all five days. Since the tickets won't come until the second day, is there anything we can do. Like, will they refund the original tickets we bought if we explain the situation (I know this is highly unlikely) or if I bought tickts at the Disney Store here ahead of time could I then use those tickets and then return the tickets my stepmother ordered for a refund. Is there anything I can do to not have to pay for that first day?

Hey Susie! Welcome to the DIS boards  !

Oh wow, what an agonizing situation...Is there any way that your step mom could just call back to change the dates, then get them rushed over to you? The tickets are non-refundable, so I don't think you'll be able to get a refund. Remember that the days on the park hoppers never expire though, so if by chance you do need to buy a one-day ticket or something, you can use the extra day on the park hoppers for another trip. Hope this helps!

Stepmom should have made them a "will call" at the gate rather than shipping them. Either that or since she lives in Celebration, she should have driven over and purchased them in person.

But since she didn't, I'm afraid you're going to be out of luck. Disney does not refund ticket purchases. I'm afraid if you buy some other tickets, you will not be able to get any refund or credit.

If worse comes to worse, and the tickets are not there (which they might be!) just buy 1 day tickets and save the extra hopper day for the next trip.

Idea #2.

Where did she buy them from? If she bought them from Disney, get ALL the information (ie any confirmation numbers) go to guest services and plead your case. They once re-ticketed me on a non-refundable MVMCP ticket that I left at home by looking up the proof that I had paid for it and 'electronically' voiding the existing ticket. It is worth a shot!

Idea #3 - Use that first day to go to the Disney discounted Ootlet stores to save money on those suvineers!!

4. Have a Swim day and then Eat at Chef Mickey!!

5. Visit Downtown Disney.

6. Use the day to visit FW see the petting zoo,eat at the BBQ place stay for the Campfire with S'mores and the Disney movie, then see the Water Parade!!

Thanks for all your ideas! They were really helpful! I'll hope the passes arrive in time and then if they don't we'll see what we feel like doing that day. If we want to go to the parks maybe we'll try to talk to Disney to see if there's anything they could do for us. Our flight arrives at 11 pm the night before, so maybe we'll be tired anyway. Or we could go to a water park or something that day that we didn't have tickets for anyway. Thanks again!

Hi,

I bet your tickets will come before the 23rd.

However, if they don't I like tink's idea of using the time as a non park day especially if you're gonna be tired from a late flight.

herc.
