So...we are planning on being in the parks 6 Days, and originally was planning on purchasing 6 day park hoppers.

However, we'll be in the same park 4 of those days, and only hopping 2 days.

It seems to me if I buy 8 same park tickets, i'll actually save about $100.00. Am I missing something?

You can't use two of your day tickets on the same day. The turnstiles are programmed to dis-allow it.

Yes, you're missing the rules LOL! Unfortunately you cannot use 2 one day tickets to enter different parks on the same day. Not allowed by Disney. Once you enter one park, without a park hopper, you cannot enter a second park on that day.

The only way to enter 2 parks in 1 day is with a Park Hopper ticket.

What you are asking will not work.

IF you do not have park hopper tickets and attempt entry into a second park, the turnstile will deny you entry. The attendant will then direct you to the ticket booths where you can upgrade your tickets to parkhoppers.

It costs the same to upgrade your tickets whether there are 10 days left on your ticket or 2.

Correct - you can pay $90 (or whatever it is right now) for that additional one-day ticket!

We actually did this once, we had a bunch of one-day promo tickets, and we were able to use 2 in one day for different parks. Had we paid for those tickets it would have been like throwing money away, over purchasing a PH!

Ahhh, I see. Can you add "ParkHopper" privileges for just 1 day? For example, we intend to only hop on Day 2, but the rest of them we'll probably be in the same park.

The hopper option is a flat rate, so you could hop everyday or one day, but it will be the same price.

It's a flat fee (around $55/ticket) regardless of how many days of tickets you have. You don't have to hop every day, but you will pay the same amount for the hopper option whether you need it for just 1 day or all days.
