Tickets Purchased....upgrading to Annual Pass?

Hello. I bought our tickets a couple of weeks ago through UnderCover Tourist. I'm thinking that we should upgrade one ticket to an Annual Pass so we get free parking (staying offsite)....dining discounts...and I heard that Memory Maker is included? We area family with kids and we have been to Disney 2x.The first time we went...we got caught up in the Disney magic and upgraded our passes while at one of the parks....and in turn ended up going again that calendar year...but I don't think we can do that again.

Is it "frowned upon" for one member of the family to get an annual pass?

Are we even able to upgrade tickets purchased through undercover tourist?

One thing to consider is APs purchased between now and Jan 3, 2017 will receive 13 months, instead of 12. The discounts have also been increased until Sept 2017. I wouldn't even hesitate if the math works for you!

I think that downloads of photos, starts with a Gold Pass, so you wouldn need to figure that level in your comparison.

As well as block out dates...

You have to be either a DVC Member or FL Resident to get the Gold Pass, so the OP may not even qualify for that level.

Awesome! I think we have to wait til we visit a park though because our tickets are considered "linked" to my account since I wanted to reserve fast passes...

I'm pretty sure that you do have to upgrade in one of the parks. Thankfully none of your fastpasses get erased!

You would have to wait no matter what. There's no way to upgrade a ticket like that when you're not at WDW.

But please do the math. Make sure that the AP you're upgrading to has memory maker. Make sure the total parking costs and potential food/merchandise savings will make up for the upgrade.

That's a big expense if you're not going to break even, so make sure of it first, since you won't be going back inside the year (13 months if you're upgrading inside that promption's time period).

This may be a dumb question....how does Disney know what I paid for the ticket from undercover tourist? Myself and my wife (DVC members) will upgrade/renew tomorrow but I don't know how the difference is calculated. Any input would be helpful. Thanks

They don't know exactly what you paid. They know what the reseller (UT) paid for the ticket, but that is less than what you paid. My understanding is that when upgrading, you will get the current gate price for your ticket applied towards your upgrade. So for example, if you paid $250 for your ticket but the current gate price for that ticket is $265, then you would get $265 credit towards your upgrade. They call this "bridging". I have seen many people on these boards describe doing just this as a way of saving a little bit on the cost of their AP.
