Ok for our last trip in Jan 08 I priced our tickets thru Disney and thru some of the authorized resellers and the price difference wasn't more then a few dollars per ticket so I went ahead and ordered them on line thru Disney.

Received hard plastic (kind of like a credit card) tickets with Disney characters on them. They are great looking cards and awesome keep sakes.

Half way thru our vacation we decided to go ahead and add the park hopper onto our ticket and therefore had to give them our nice hard plastic cards and were given paper tickets (we asked very nicely to keep our original tickets and while the CM said she wasn't supposed to left us keep them she did, so now we have something for our Christmas tree.) I really don't understand whey they had to change our the ticket and I was not happy with the tickets, not two days into the rest of our stay we started having trouble with them at fast pass machines, having to insert them many times to get them to work.

Ok now for our next trip we are going to go ahead and add the park hopper option, I've priced the tickets again and now there is a larger difference between the prices that Disney has and the reseller, so I'm thinking about getting them from the reseller.

So what kind of tickets do they sale, paper or plastic?. Or are they tickets? Do we have to trade them at the ticket counter for real tickets? Or can I go straight to the entrance?

Just so you know these are the type of places I'm looking at:

http://www.undercovertourist.com/

Thanks!
Todd

The resellers I've purchased from give you the tyvek tickets. They seem like paper, but they're really not. No need to exchange them for a hard card ticket. They work fine.

I checked out the sites you have mentioned before and they ARE NOT cheaper then the Disney Site at all, the prices they show are before taxes and when they had the taxes in they are actually more then the Disney prices. For Example I am going to Disney World 2 adults 1 child 7 day park hopper through Disney online it is $755.00 through undercovertourist.com it is $774.85 so becareful when buying from other places seems like a good deal at first but after the taxes it really isn't.

I agree - I kept hearing people say undercover tourist was a deal - check out disney and compare carefully. The disney site was definitely cheaper when I checked it out just now...(for 10 day base ticket)

Then I am going to try AAA and compare as well - I have a spreadsheet going - hopefully I can get a breakdown of the winner shortly.

Undercover tourist has a link on the Mouse savers newsletter that gave me the best prices for the 7 day PH. It did include tax and free shipping.

you have to subscribe to the newsletter to get the link. HTH

But, I did not check out AAA yet.

You do have to be careful of the tax and shipping. Undercovertourist the prices DO include tax and shipping. I have found that they are a few dollars cheaper using the mousesaver link.

Has anyone dealt with the website "OrlandoAttractions" ? They are offering a 3 day Base ticket with 3 FREE additional days? I have been checking their website to find the catch .... and I am not finding anything questionable.

My gut tells me that this offer is too good to be true. This website was advertised in the new Orlando Attractions Magazine (although they apparently are not affiliated) which leads me to think this offer may be for real.

If I do buy these tickets, will I be able to upgrade them to Park Hoppers once I am at the park?

Any ifo/advice would be appreciated!

Ok, I got curious. so much for work today.
the AAA 7dayPH with WP&M is 319.00 for and adult ticket plus 8.95 shipping
the undercouver tourist is 9.00 less and free shipping so I'd save about 35.00.

This is what I'm looking for -
7 day park hopper
3 Adults
2 Child

Orlando Fun Tickets: 1283.18 plus 8.95 UPS ground
Disney.com 1,327.00 plus 3 US mail

For a total savings of 37.87

undercovertourist.com following link in mouse savers newsletter: 1257.75 tax and shipping included
Disney.com 1330 tax and shipping included

For a total savings of 72.25

Sounds like a good deal to me......

But it sounds like the answer to my questions is that they will issue you the tyvek (paper) tickets and you can go straight to the gate....thanks

2 adults 1 child 7 day park hopper:

disney.com before tax 755 - including tax - 804.08 plus 3 shipping
undercovertourist.com including tax 774.85 - includes shipping

For a savings of 32.23

disney.com before tax 755 - including tax - 804.08 plus 3 shipping
undercovertourist.com following link from mouse savers including tax 761.85 - includes shipping

For a total savings of 42.23

With disney.com you have to go to "check out" to get the final cost.

Undercover tourist sure was cheaper for me.

Current prices for four adult 6 day parkhoppers
Using mousesavers link to undercover tourist: $1039 including tax and shipping
Directly from Disney: $1048 plus $68.12 tax plus $3 shipping = 1119.12

Savings by using Undercover Tourist = $80.12

Disney.com prices do NOT include tax or shipping.

Undercovertourist prices DO include tax or shipping.

Some sites price pre-tax and others do not. Caveot Emptor for sure.

I was not aware of Undercover Tourist until reading this thread. I went to Mousesavers and subscribed to the newsletter but I won't be getting my first one until 3/15 which is the day I leave for WDW. Linking to Undercover Tourist from the Mousesavers page, the ticket prices are higher that those I see quoted here. I assume that's because linking from the newsletter link is required to get the lowest prices.

So my question is, since I won't have the newsletter link in time, any recommendations for the second best place to buy discounted tickets?

Thanks,
Hank T.

I think the Tyvek tickets hold up very well. That's what my annual pass is every year, and I don't have trouble with it. From what I hear, the hard cards become demagnetized easier than the Tyvek tickets do.

I wouldn't worry about tickets from a reseller not holding up. Just go where you can get the best deal on price.

I was going to post pretty much this same statement. The "paper" tickets are much more durable and the magnetic strip supposedly adheres better to the tyvek then the hard plastic. Although the OP sounds like they had some troubles this is not generally the case with those tickets!

Ok good to know, maybe I just had some bad luck. It wasn't that big of a deal, but it did take a few more seconds (maybe 30 or 45) more at the fast pass machines.

Thanks!

We've gotten out tickets from Undercover Tourist and was quite pleased with the service, price etc. They were the paper type.

However, we always have the tickets put on our Room Keys and then have no problems with the fast pass machines. You can have this done at the Concierge at your hotel.

Its takes character to admit an error.....

I was WRONG. :)
