Hello - we are heading down for a trip and this is first time I am not staying onsite. I bought the tickets directly through Disney so the tickets are in my MDE already but I got an email saying they are will call. I messaged them and they told me that I can use my old Magic Bands and I did some research and was able to convert 3 of the tickets to apple wallet.

Does anyone have experience with such - using old still linked Magicbands for ticket only purchases? or using the apple wallet feature for park entry? I really want to avoid will call at all cost.

Also if someone has used the apple wallet feature, does that work for the genie fast lanes?

Thank you!

I have used VERY old MagicBands for park entry with zero issues. Just make sure they are still flagged as active in MDE.

I have used Disney MagicMobile on my iPhone for park entry with zero issues. I did not have a compatible Apple Watch at that time, but it should also work without issue.

According to Disney, it works just like using a MagicBand.

Each person with an old MB can use his/her MB for the new ticket if its linked to them in MDE. The only issue with old MB's is photos, sometimes the battery isn't strong enough to capture the ride photos. You can check MDE to see each persons active bands and then make sure they also have a ticket assigned to them. You can not re-assign MB's If you have photo pass I suggest purchasing one new MB for the party to capture the ride photos.

We use old MB's all the time - my favorite one is a LE band that was a gift and is now at least 5 years old. Works great for anything you actually tap, not sure about the rest as my dd's usually wear newer bands.

When you enter the park greeter can issue you plastic "admission" cards if you prefer, using a lanyard makes it easy to access when using the touchpoints for G+ or LL. No need to visit will call for this.

I haven't used any of the apple watch features yet but my dd's will next week !

Magic mobile works well. You don’t have to have your phone unlocked. Just put it near the card reader like a magic band. I assume Apple Watch works similar to magic band too. I used my iPhone last week.

Awesome, what a relief. Thank you all for the insights! We have 4 people with tons of magic bands but 3 that can't find theirs so it seems like those 3 can use the apple wallet.

Thank you!!!
