One of the members of your party will not be able to confirm that they can come with us until the last minute. The rest of us will have our tickets already. If she orders her tickets online with WDW and picks them up at the "will call", will that save us any time over just buying them at the gate?

Depends totally on the time-of-day that one arrives at the park (and at WHICH park, and on which day).

The difference in time is not something to even worry about.
Do it either way.

It won't take a LOT of time in either case.

I have another question pertaining to this topic.

I was thinking about ordering my tickets online to save a couple of bucks. Should I pick up the tickets at the will call or cough up the extra money ($10) to ship em to Canada? We will be arriving at the parks at about 3pm on a friday afternoon in May. What is the wait time like? Anyone ever have problems picking up their tickets?

TIA

Will-Call should be no problem at all.

Unless there's some unknown "RUSH on the place", it simply won't take but a very few minutes to pick them up.

If you have them shipped... YOU will be responsible for getting to WDW with them, etc... so its really a "draw" one way or the other.

Tickets can also be picked up at the resort concierge desk when you check in. So if you're staying in a Disney resort, you can do it when you check in as well.

Can you pick your tickets up at a Value resort? I'm assuming there wouldn't be a concierge desk there. This will be my first trip so i'm not really sure what to expect!

If you were staying at a value why would you not just get a package that includes tickets? Then you could get the dining plan too! I'm a big DP fan! Even if you don't get the dining it is much easier and the same price as booking seperatly. You will have your passes right on you room key card, you can also use your card to charge purchases to your room if you want. I would never purchase my tickets at the gate.

The value resorts do indeed have a concierge desk. You can pick up your will call tickets there unless you purchased AP/PAP/SP's. In those cases, you will have to pick up the ticket at a Guest Relations location at the theme parks or DTD. But all other MYW tickets can be picked up at the concierge desk. They can even be added to your resort ID.
