Tickets for Characters

I'd like to know this as well. We are traveling with another family in August. Our reservations are linked. We have an 11:00 PAT, but they can't check-in for another week and I feel like will get a later PAT time. We thought the same thing though - my daughter and I could go ahead and board and then pick up tasting and character tickets so that when they boarded, we could go eat together and just relax.

Yes, you can get tickets for a linked reservation. Just did this a couple weeks ago on the Magic and they only gave us 1 ticket for each event that covered the 5 of us in two cabins. They weren't even all present when I got the tickets - just told them I had two cabins.

We went immediately after boarding and got tickets that were for 9:00 (princesses) and 9:15 (Frozen) the next morning (first sea day). They did't give us any option on the times. Another family at our table at dinner didn't know about these until midway through the cruise, but they were still able to get tickets for later in the cruise.

Having the tickets and assigned times was way easier than standing in line forever to meet the princesses like we did on the Fantasy. Most of the other characters were either walk-up or very short waits.

On the Wonder, the tickets are for Anna & Elsa and then the Princess Gathering. The tickets work out great for us...wait time maybe 5 minutes. Our original time did not work due to a conflict, but they changed our time without any issues. The character breakfast is part of your dining rotation...it will be on your dining ticket. We have been on 6 cruises and the character breakfasts have always been very well attended. Have fun!

I read somewhere that there are NO character breakfasts on the Fantasy. Is that accurate? THANKS!

When the Fantasy first entered service, they attempted to do the Character Breakfast, like the one on the Classic ships. However, the MDR is much larger, with the tables much closer together than on the classic ships, so it didn't fly. They stopped doing them.

Now, there are reports that DCL is testing a new Character Breakfast (Disney Jr. characters, not the Mickey & Gang group). And you pick up tickets for it. You're not assigned as on the classic ships. I think that's so they can fill up the breakfast (and possibly only have to hold one or two seatings, instead of the "normal" 6 that are not as well attended). I heard that's what they are doing on the Magic, and I believe they started on the Fantasy in the last couple of weeks.

We were on the Fantasy 4/25/15 sailing and did the Disney Junior breakfast that they are trying out. Seating was done in 15 minute intervals. We were scheduled for 8:30 am. Mickey, Doc, Jake and Sofia were the characters. We were disappointed with the breakfast. It was nice to see the characters but the food was cold, our order was wrong and the characters, every one of them, skipped our table and we had to have the host come over so we could explain the situation to him.

Sorry to hear about the yucky food. Who was the captain and CD for your cruise?

This is awesome news!!!! This will make life so much easier. I wonder if they'll let me do tastings. Hmm... We are linked, but 2 different families.

Yeah, I was at a breakfast this sailing as well. We were told the food is pre prepared, so you can't modify it at all. Mine was lukewarm as well. It seems like they were working on getting the timing down, as we ended up finishing our food long before the last character came around.
