WHAT?????? In calling WDW to purchase tickets for upcoming trips (to take advantage of "today's" prices), I've been told the following info, by two seperate MS reps....
The Dining Plan is sold as a package which includes tickets...even for DVC members. When adding the Dining Plan for '07, we will have to purchase tickets at that time, at the newer ticket prices.

I asked how that works when you have AP's or nonexpiring tickets, and noone seemed to know for sure.

So here's my question...Can DVC members simply add Dining to their reservations or are tickets and dining coupled at time of reservation? :guilty:

DVC (while at a DVC property) can just add dining(no ticket requirement). Example-If you are at OKW for a week with an AP you can just add the dining, but if you are at GF(not on poitns) but through a package -then you must have tickets with the dining(min 1 day ticket)

I wish MS was open today to confirm this. Did you speak with MS or CRO...the rules are different. I hope not, because I am getting AP's.

correction...I spoke with central reservations. What's interesting is that both reps where themselves DVC members, and neither knew or could find the absolute answer. Both said, "the dining plan is always sold as part of a package".

If you are a DVC member you do not need tickets to go with the Dining Package. You only need to ask to add Dining on to your time of stay at DVC. If you are a DVC member and need tickets, I would buy them today.

I am out of luck, I am staying at BWV, but I need to buy my package with the ticket increase, because I am staying at POR the first 4 days and I have to buy those 4 days as a package, MYW tickets and Dining. So my package for the first 4 days will have the ticket increase because I am going in 2007. But then I will be calling my renter and asking him to call MS to add Dining onto my BWV reservation and I will pay for Dining when I check in.

Go to the Dining Thread. It explains it all.

No, it's not. When staying at a DVC resort ON POINTS you don't need the tickets in order to get the Dining Plan. Perhaps CRO meant that if you were getting the FREE DINING Plan you must purchase a ticket. I have that plan for the beginning of October, and I have to buy a ticket, which I can then apply to the renewal of my AP. :)

Rox, Cruella is correct. When changing some ADR's today after I saw you, I asked them. She said that when you are staying on points, you cannot get the MYW w/ dining. The AP's and regular passes cannot be combined with the dining plan so you did it right. You can get the tix ahead of time but you also have to add the dining plan BEFORE you get there, not when you get there. I knew those people had no clue. party: this afternoon!!
