Ticket upgrade

Last year, a CM at Guest Services inside the front gate of Epcot told me she couldn't give me the current gate price of my ticket towards an AP upgrade because I got such a good deal on the ticket. What she was seeing was the price that UT had paid for the ticket about 6 years ago. She knew how to do it and knew the ticket was eligible for it, but she wouldn't do the upgrade at gate price.
I still shake my head over that one!
I then went to Guest Services at the IG, and the CM was glad to do it.

Yes. I agree with this.
"Vigilate CMs" deciding, on their own, to "save Disney money" by refusing to do correct procedures.

The thing that most people don't understand about this "price bridge" situation is that Disney
has ALREADY "lost" any money
that they would in the transaction when they originally sold the
tickets to the authorized ticket reseller... at a wholesale price.
And, Disney set the wholesale price.

Following as we plan to upgrade and price bridge our tickets day #1 at AK in Feb. I have our cost figured out and hope to get the AP no problem, I'm more concerned with the memory maker kicking in and tickets/magic bands switching flawlessly

I work for Chase. We can get 1day and 5day hoppers to WDW at 20% off due to the credit card relationship we have w Disney. I assume we can still bridge these to an AP (we used to be able to).

And if I upgrade mid trip will my memory maker include pictures of the days before I converted to AP?

Thx for the assistance.

You can upgrade and bridge those tickets.

To be SURE of getting your pics, I'd upgrade on the first day.

Let me try one more on ya. Can I bridge / upgrade a 5day chase hopper to a 10 day no hop (assuming I upgrade on day 1 and have not used the hop option)?

You don't have to do it on day one, but otherwise, yes, that's fine.

"Officially," only if the cost of the 5 extra "days" ($50) is higher than the cost of the hopper option on a 5-day ticket ($64.)

So, since it is NOT higher, the CM just MIGHT deny the upgrade (as that is "officially" not an upgrade, due to the cost factor.)

However, if you ask nicely, the CM just MIGHT do the upgrade, but you'd lose the extra $14 per ticket.
Further, if you ask VERY nicely, the CM just MIGHT do the upgrade, AND give you back the $14 per ticket in the form of a Disney gift card.

Oh, see, I just assumed that it only mattered if the price of the 10 day base ticket was more than the price of the 5 day park hopper, which I assumed it was. (Although I admit I didn't check to confirm.)

1. I just assumed that it only mattered if the price of the 10 day base ticket was more than the price of the 5 day park hopper, which I assumed it was.

2. (Although I admit I didn't check to confirm.)

1. Yup. That's why I posted the price info.

2. I had to look it up, myself, before I posted it. (Lots of little details and numbers to crunch.)

The kicker is usually the fact that "days" 5 thru 10 are so inexpensive.
