If I have a MYW ticket with the water park/Quest options, does it have to be upgraded to a premium annual pass if it's never been used?

As far as I recall, you cannot upgrade a MYW with plus options to a regular (non-premium) annual pass.

I wonder if it matters if it's never been used. ??

I'm pretty sure I did this last year, but I never used any part of the ticket so perhaps that's the key. I paid $125 more than the MYW 10 day ticket with options. I just looked at my word document I sent to my friend last spring. They did it for me and mailed it back to me. I wanted the DDE card so needed the voucher numbers.

Some of the policies changed January 1. Hang out a while and I'm sure seashoreCM will reply to this... she knows the particulars.

They do change the rules all the time don't they?

The person at Guest Services at Epcot didn't upgrade my ticket correctly last year. The CM at MGM had a fit about the way that they did it when I turned it in for my AP pass. I was lucky I had a veteran when I did the activation at MGM last June.

You would only need to upgrade to a premium annual pass if you've USED any of the plus admissions. Since you said the ticket is completely unused, you should be able to upgrade to a regular annual pass.

If I've misunderstood, and you mean the only thing remaining are unused plus options, then it cannot be upgraded at ALL, nor can you get any prorated credit towards new admission.

Thanks! We are trying to determine if we will go again in December and flights for that time are not out for us yet. I'd like to buy our MYW tickets so I don't have a huge expense all at once. DD's ticket I would upgrade to just an AP while the boys I would do PAP because they go to Quest many times during a trip.

Hopefully, we would know by the time our trip this summer rolls around.

Yes, they would be totally unused when we upgrade them to an AP.
Thank you for your help. I will probably buy their tickets in May then :)

I have yet another question too, if you know. Can I still get the discount for an AP renewal up to 30 days AFTER it expires at a Guest Service ticket window on property or do I have to do it over the phone?

I believe (but am not positive so confirm with Guest Relations when purchasing your ORIGINAL AP) that there is a 30 day grace period. Within those 30 days, you can renew via phone, US Mail, online, or in person but the anniversary date will remain the same.

That is true, you can only renew your annual pass either 30 days before ( and keep the same Exp. date ) or 30 days after ( and keep the same exp. date ).

Thank you!
I wasn't sure about the ticket window piece. I knew I could over the phone.
