We are a family of 5 planning on visiting US/IOA this June or August. We are currently booked at RPR for 6 nights.
I am wondering if I should buy 5 of the $99 tickets or 4 and 1 AP?
I'm hoping that the supersaver rates are released for our dates, are those usually better than the APH discount? Would we be able to make up the difference in price of the AP on the discounts available, or would we be better off looking into a AAA membership?

What I would do is buy 5 of the $99 tickets. If there is a great discount using the AP, you can upgrade one of the tickets to an annual pass (you would just pay the difference at Guest Services). If there isn't a great discount and AAA is the way to go, you can purchase that membership when you find out the best prices. You don't need the AP or the AAA membership to actually book using those rates, you just need to show your membership when you are at the hotel.

The $99 tickets may not be around for long. Nobody knows.

Thanks for the great advice! :thumbsup2
I didn't realize I could upgrade one of the $99 tickets to an AP.
It looks like, according to the AAA website, RPR is $229 for August (15% off)
Thats currently better than the APH code.
I'll have to call tomorrow and ask for the AAA rate.

Can I pop on for another ticket-related question?

If I buy the $99 tickets (the ones that are good for 7 days after you first use them) now, they don't expire, right? We're kind of iffy on our vacation plans for next summer, but USF is one of our options. If I buy the tickets now and our vacation plans change, will I still be able to use those tickets in say, summer of 2011?

I emailed USF from the link on their website but haven't heard back yet.

Thanks!

those passes are valid forever.

when you first use them, they expire after 6 days.

you could save them for 2012 and would still be valid
