Ticket Questions for Those in the Military

I believe you can also order the tickets through Camp Pendleton as well. I will have to check for the number. Same deal - $10 shipping.

I ordered our military salute tickets from SOG Friday. There's a bit of emailing back and forth and forms and such but then someone will call and get your full CC number and you'll get a FED EX tracking number when the tickets mail. When I originally called the lady said its a 2 week process. But I submitted the forms Friday, someone called me Saturday, and the tickets were mailed Tuesday morning with a delivery date of Thursday. So they should be here tomorrow. Ill update tomorrow on if they are activated or not.
Ive used the military salute tickets at Disneyland in 2013 and I just showed my ID (Im a spouse) and my 11 year old daughters ID (I dont know if they needed that or not, but I handed it over with the paperwork.) They exchanged our paper order for paper tickets (the ones with the characters faces on them) and we used those for the rest of the time there.

I do not believe the earlier post about 8 days is true. The water park options adds 4 fun visits not 4 extra days at the water parks.

Im having a hard time attaching the paperwork SOG sent me but it said its adds 4 fun visits and the fun visits include both water parks, a round of golf, a round of mini golf, and admission to ESPN World of Sports. I mean yes you could spread those 4 fun visits into 4 extra days, but only 2 would be water parks.

You can use the extra water parks and more days any way you would like.

Oh I see what you're saying. It didn't say you couldn't pick the same fun visit more than once. That really cool then. (Not for me, I HATE water parks. Nothing is worse to me than standing around a bunch of wet semi naked people in a giant line for a 1 minute slide. Ive been to blizzard beach a few times and survived, but def not on my list of things to do again. LOL.)

Call and ask. But just a word of caution. Only ONE person has said here that they actually got park ready tickets from SoG; they may not still be sending them. It never hurts to ask, though!

As the "one person" referenced above, just stopping back to report that we have used 3 of 4 of our days on the pre-activated tickets with no issues. They were linked perfectly, no issues on our first park morning, and all FP booked at 60 days were perfect!

The water parks are no different than theme parks in that regard (long line, short attraction). The difference is that the water parks never feel crazy crowded like the theme parks sometimes do. For those who enjoy swimming and a fun way to cool off, the water parks are great.

Update: Got our tickets from SOG today. They are activated green tickets that look like gift cards.

My husband was recently retired from the military. We are now eligible for the military discount. We took a quick 2 day trip to Disneyland this week just to check the park out. I've been to Disneyworld before and my DH has been to Disneyland numerous times since he grew up close to the park. But this was our kids first trip. After we got home we heard that we could have gotten a "green pass" that we could use as a fast pass for all the rides that never expired. I've never heard of this or read about it anywhere on the DIS, Pinterest etc. I didn't know if any of you veterans had heard about this or knew if it was just a Disney wives tale. LOL Thanks!

I've never heard anything about this for the military. A google search showed there used to be a green light pass for guests with disabilities at Disneyland, but I think these have changed like the ones at WDW changed. There is also a discussion of some kind of green pass at Disneyland Paris, but nothing for the original Disneyland.

For those that ordered your tickets from Shades of Green, how far in advance of your arrival did you get them? I would like to get my tickets as soon as possible, but am worried about SOG not sending them until 30 days prior to arrival. Any input to this?

You get the tickets a couple of days later after ordering. They do not hold them back. We just got ours Tuesday, ordered the week before.

Yes, he can purchase them on base if they do that, I don't think all the bases do. The first time my son used his, I think his wife called Disney and purchased them then they activated them at the gate. No matter how you get them, I'm pretty sure you are going to have to activate them. Also, I'm not sure if he can get the discount for anyone other than him and a spouse, we've never tried to get them for me since I have APs. I think to be used those who don't have military IDs are going to have to be with him whenever they go into the park. Again, not sure since his wife had and ID and I have the AP. The best bet is for you to call Disney and ask them, the last time we went they just bought them at the gate, we went through the IG at Epcot and it didn't take long at all.

Actually the military ID holder only needs to be there for activation, not whenever they go in the park. My son is active duty and we went and once he activated all of the tickets DH and I could go to a different park if we so chose, or go to the park at a different time than DS
