Ticket Question

Everyone in my family has 2 days remaining on non-expiring park hopper tickets except my son. He was sent the wrong ticket and I didn't catch it till it was too late and they weren't selling the non-expiring tickets any more. So he has days remaining on a non-expiring ticket but it's not a hopper.

I have two complimentary tickets from WDW from several years back that haven't been used. Anyone know if he can use his non-expiring tickets to get into park #1 and use the complimentary tickets to hop with the rest of us? Or am I stuck buying him a two day hopper ticket?

He'll be aging out of the child ticket next year so want to use up the remaining non-expiring days he has left, but we can't all hop and leave him behind. :crazy2:

I guess if I plan to buy Genie + for those days that may be an issue, I'm assuming it would only work on ticket #1 for the day.

At Disney, you don’t age out of a ticket. Stop by Guest Relations or a ticket booth and they will convert the child ticket to an adult ticket.

There shouldn’t be an issue in using a separate ticket at a second park. You cannot use the same ticket at a different park on the same day without it being a hopper, which you understand.

I think you can just log in your Disney experience app and delete the age. Then it shouldn’t be an issue anyway right?

Seems to me if you wanted to go that route you would just create a new user and link the ticket to that name. Then make park reservations for that user, then when he uses the ticket for the first time it will link to his finger print and he a non issue. Doubt you can link two separate tickets to the same user on the same day though.

Another potential issue is park reservations. If he has one for the first park, how will he get one for the second park? A hopper ticket doesn’t require a second reservation, but I wonder how they will handle using a totally different ticket for the second park.

I think the only way this will work is if you make two profiles in MDE for your son. That way you can link the tickets (non-expire and comp) to two different profiles and also make park reservations for same-day "park hopping".

For example, let's pretend your son's name is John Smith and you want to hop from MK to EP on day 1 and AK to DHS on day 2:

Profile #1 - John Smith - link non-expire
Profile #2 - J Smith - link comp tickets

Day #1 - reserve MK for John Smith and EP for J Smith
Day #2 - reserve AK for John Smith and DHS for J Smith

This would mean you would have to buy Genie+ twice for your son on each day. I think this plan would work.

First check to confirm that the comp ticket isn't a hopper. Often they are, but I suppose it may be 1-park.

But yeah, if it's not a hopper and you want to use 2 different tickets to enter 2 different parks, I think you will need to set-up 2 profiles and be sure to have park reservations for both. He will also need to be aware that whatever ticket media he uses at park #1 cannot be used at park #2 - so a hard ticket is good for the comp ticket.

And PP is correct that he will not age out of his current no-expire tickets. Since they were clearly used by him at the younger age, WDW will simply re-issue any remaining days as adult tickets.

When you go to make reservations you select which ticket you want to make reservations with.
We have 2 different ticket media in our accounts for both DH and myself right now. Active AP and AP vouchers. Each time I go to make park reservations I can pick either one when making the reservation. I can even make one with each for the same day at different parks. Each reservation made, deducts one from the # available for the media. Make one, will say 4 of 5 available, the 3 of 5, etc. When I've made all available for the active AP it says 0 of 5 available and the voucher shows 5 of 5 available, etc
So in the case of OP, if she assigns each Comp ticket to her son she should be able to pick Comp #1, make park reservation and then pick Comp #2, make park reservation. And when she goes to make reservations with Comp #2, #1 should be gone from the selection list since it will be used.

Thanks all! I've gone back and forth but I'm just going to spring for a new 2 day park hopper/water park & more ticket for him this trip and save his current tickets and the complimentary tickets for another time. I'd be using four day tickets for his two days plus have to buy genie+ twice and also buy him a water park ticket in the end, I'll just take the budget hit this time around. :thanks:
