My wife and I will be flying over from the UK on May 24. We will be based in Anaheim at the Sheraton Anaheim for 3 weeks and using this as a base to visit all parts of Southern California .

This will be our 6th visit and we normally like to have a day at Disney the first week to get us in the old Disney spirit followed by a multi day pass in the last week for some serious Disney-ing .

This time though I have been looking at the pricing of tickets and am thinking it may be better to get 2 deluxe annual passports. It won't work out much more than 2 day tickets and 2 multi day tickets and will give us the extra flexibility of being able to pop over to any of the Parks on any day we choose .

Before taking the plunge I would be grateful for any advice from the Disney experts out there as to whether there are any reasons not to get the annual passport.

Thank you.

Ivan.

If you want to do a MM, you may want to consider purchasing a 3 day or more parkhopper ticket, use the MM and then upgrade to the AP. :goodvibes

Hi ,
Thanks for your reply but could you please explain what an MM is ?. Sorry for my ignorance.

Hi ,

It is a magic morning (or early morning entry) - you can have one of these if you buy a park hopper but not with Annual Passes but you can still upgrade to AP's. We are still getting Deluxe AP's initially though (we too are from the UK) so we can visit multiple times ( not THAT bothered about MM) as we can get a good room discount at the HOJo with our DAP's. It will be a killer not to be able to get into the park on our first day (Saturday) as DAP's are blocked out in summer on Saturdays.

On the plus side, you'll get dining discounts (10%) with your AP that you couldn't get while you have a parkhopper. MM is a good reason to consider PHs first though.

You could buy 3+ day parkhoppers, make your first visit to DL on a MM day so you can use your MM privileges, upgrade sometime after MM to APs, then you can use your discounts for the rest of the trip.

I agree with everyone else about getting a park hopper that includes the Magic Morning entrance, then upgrade it after using the MM. Whatever you paid for the hopper will be used towards the upgrade.

Also, you may want to check out the Deluxe AP blackout dates before you decide what to do.

Not sure if this link will work, but if it doesn't, you can go to Disneyland.com and then go to Tickets > annual passport > and then click on the deluxe to show available days.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for all your excellent advice .

It's definitely going to be a ParkHopper followed by an upgrade to a deluxe AP.

Roll on the next seven weeks.....
