Does anyone know if the 3-day hopper (the adults paying the kids price promotion) has to be purchased in advance? If it is the same price at the gate, that would be my preference but I will buy them online ahead if they aren't available.

Tickets are more expensive at the gates. Online places people like are ares travel, getaway today and Disney's site. For sure at Getawaytoday and maybe ares travel you have to pick up your passes at the ticket booth and then go to the turnstyles. At Disney's site, you print out your passes on your printer and take them straight to the turnstyles - saves a step and possibly a long line.
