Ok, we just bought our DVC timeshare at the SSR about a week ago. I see that members get i believe a $100. discount on annual passes. However, what about the people who buy the timeshares and generally only visit once a year. I don't think the annual passes would do us much good for this reason, or am i wrong. We are planning a trip there at the end of October, and will be there for a full seven days. Are there any discounts for the seven day pass for DVC members, or do you have to go with the Annual pass or what is the price differences. Thanks in advance for the advice.

No there are no discounts for MYW passes only AP's. What you do is you visit this year and next year come a week earlier, before your pass expires so you can get two trips out of it.

Cobbler is right. Many will do one trip a year, but by skewing the dates a week each year, you can get two trips on one AP. In your case, that would be 14 days. We actually go a step further with that. Because the tickets expire and renew from the date of first use, we will often use an AP for two years of trips and then take a bit more than 12 months off instead of renewing an AP. That way, we buy a new AP and start the cycle over again. It does mean one year with almost 13 months between trips, but for those of us that come a bit of a distance, it works well.

Cobbler's point is certainly good advice. My question is this: How many days out of your seven will you visit a park? I hope it isn't seven because a little down time or a resort day should be included. If the answer to your question is 4 or less which would be my suggestion for an enjoyable trip the strangly consider the MYW 10 day no expiration pass with park hopping and plus features. This pass works out to be around the same price as an annual pass I believe. We get around 3 years on this pass. We rarely visit the parks, maybe a day or 2 per trip. We take around three trips a year. For us that is the beauty of DVC, you don't need to go commando through the parks. The parks aren't going anywhere so we don't feel the need to see it all this trip. We'll be back for years to come. That 10 day pass gives you 5 plus features as well which include water parks. We spend water park days so we feel like we get 15 visits out of that pass. 15 visits is around 3 years for us right now. As my son ages that could change and the annual pass may work out better. Really do the research to see what is best for you. Annual pass gives you access to room discounts and the $50 DDE which gives you discounts on dining including alcohol. Hope this helps a little.
