Ticket Question for resort guests

Hey everyone! I'm a bit of a newbie to the boards.. in any case, I'm starting the college program in january, and my boyfriend and i are driving down a few days early for a mini vacay & are staying at the Port Orleans Riverside. Here's my question.. We're only going to EPCOT, and I have a day or 2 left over on a resort key thing from 5 years ago (used one of the days last month.. no probs at all), so we only need to buy a park ticket for one person. This may be silly, but can we have them out just one day on one of the hotel keys? I can't remember how it works.
