Ticket Prices Increasing June 12th!

I just bought 3 using a Visa, and it went right through. Do you have a Visa card? What happens when you use your MC? Is it denied, or what?

I'm sure it should work until midnight. I'm wondering and thinking that it may work until someone goes on-shift tomorrow AM to change it.

it says that the card isn't going through because either the information is incorrect or some other reason. Try again in a few minutes or try another card. I don't have a visa and I only have trip insurance option on my m/c. Sigh. I just went shopping so my cc is perfectly fine.

Changed my mind. When you get the DAP, they require full ID information now. Just in case, I'm gonna get the Gift Vouchers. Seems the most flexible.

The reason I did the gift voucher, i can gift myself if i wish.

Just make sure you have the terms and conditions checked and sometimes MC is not the best choice for many items.

If so, I think your crazy not to upgrade. The advantage is simply in the added flexibility you get for $27. The person with the Premium must be there to receive any discounts, for example. And if you pay with a credit card, the credit card name must match the Premium pass holder. And, further, if you split bills with a credit card, only the part paid by the Premium pass holder gets any discount. Never know when a party might split up for whatever reason.


I see you live in NorCal, not too bad of a drive to LA. You can often find rooms at some of the hotels on harbor for 30$-40$ last minute on Priceline during off season. Who knows, you might make a weekend out of it during the year, knowing that you don't have to worry about ticket prices. That extra $27 is entirely worth it.

This is what I was told "New and renewal prices will increase on Sunday. You can renew your annual pass up to 30 days prior to your expiration date."

So we went down to DLR ticket window to renew/upgrade my DDs AP. As I mentioned earlier, this pass expires on 7/1. We were told that the renewal window is 40 days. I asked her to confirm and she said it was 40 days. Her pass is within 30 days, so we would have been good either way.

Something else interesting. We chose to upgrade from Deluxe to Premium. They processed the upgrade at the current price, less the $20 renewal credit and kept the original expiration. There was no pro-rata charge for the extra month of the difference between Deluxe and Premium.

So, we're good to go! New Premium AP for the DD. Super thanks to the OP who gave us this heads up!

Interesting to note that the ticket window agents don't know much about this increase either, only that it is occuring. They will be briefed tomorrow morning.

Looks like most everyone already got their passes, but I wanted to post what we did in case anyone else is interested and can still take advantage.

Albertsons is running their "spend $100 on gift cards, get a coupon for $20 off a future grocery purchase" promotion right now.

The deal is valid from 6/5 - 6/21 in select Albertsons stores. You have to have a preferred card, but anyone can get one and it's free.

You can buy up to $500 in GC's and get 5 $20 grocery coupons in one transaction. I believe it works in most, if not all, So Cal stores.

The Albertsons we went to had a really good selection of both AP and multi day vouchers.

I honestly didn't pay too much attention to the multi day vouchers because that's not what we were looking for, just noticed that there were a bunch of them.

We grabbed a $50 Amazon GC and a $459 PAP voucher for a total of $509 and got back $100 worth of grocery coupons.

The grocery coupons say you can only use one per transaction, but we grabbed a few items while we were there and they had no problem letting us use 3 coupons on one $75 purchase.

I'm not sure which Albertsons are participating in the deal. I think it depends on who actually owns them.

We are going in August so I went ahead and bought Park Hoppers. I just went through Expedia so I could earn reward points and I went through Ebates to get a little money back. It wasn't much but every little bit helps! I'm so glad that I got in before the increase tomorrow!

Thanks for the analysis. I am swayed, but DH is not. He says it is a pain to drive down to Anaheim (we haven't done it in 7 years and we honestly find it easier to fly to Orlando!), and he doesn't foresee a weekend trip between now and next June to make it worth buying three more APs.

My thought is this. We can use the AP this trip for the hotel, dining and shopping discounts. I can try and do a getaway with some friends, which would be awesome since I have never done that, and then I can use it again in June 2012. In June 2012, Dec 2012 and June 2013, we will probably go again, so APs would make sense for those 12 months. We would need just three, because mine would be good for the June 2012 trip, so I could wait and buy mine for December 2012? Of course, there is bound to be another annoying price increase before that time comes, which will make my brain swirl around again .

Here's a kicker question: Can I upgrade my DLR PAP to a Premier at WDW in November? Then I could save my WDW MYW Park hoppers for another trip....

Just purchased our tickets for September tonight before the switch.

Was hoping for a 5 for 3 offer, but now at the new prices, even if they do offer it, it will still be more than the 5 day hopper at the old prices!

I just logged on the Disneyland ticket page and yikes! I saved $111 by buying my Park Hoppers for August on Saturday!!!!
