Bcv moved from studio to resort rooms

We got a call this morning stating our studio not available for tonight, due to maintenance issues. They offered Polynesian tower studio, OKW 1Br, or Beach club resort water view. We chose beach club resort water view since we want to stay close to Epcot. This has never happened to us before, is this a comparable switch?

Sounds nice, was your studio in the BC villas? I prefer the resort room water views at the BC/YC over the BCV views & since you got a full balcony it sounds like a pretty even switch to me .

We are at beach club resort, not the villas. Our original room was supposed to be in BCV

I wasn’t clear - I was asking where you were supposed to be before you were moved & you’ve satisfied my curiosity - they moved you from a BC DVC studio villa to a BC cash water view hotel room .

As long as I got a water view at Beach Club, not a view of a rooftop somewhere, I'd be happy. And I'm a person who loves the Beach Club Villas, so moving me away from there would NOT make me happy.

One trip, we had a BCV one bedroom villa booked and it was unavailable on arrival. Offered OKW 1 bdrm, BCV studio or BC regular resort room. Negotiated up to BC club level room based on the lack of a kitchen. Was still grumpy about it, but it was at least livable considering our plans that trip revolved around Epcot and DHS.

That trip made DH realize he really likes the space in a one bedroom, and we haven’t been back to a regular resort room since.

I only once tried not getting my room and that was at AKV. We had booked a club level studio for 1 nt, and they called a few days prior to say they were already at capacity and if we were okay getting a savanna view room instead and still keeping club level access. We accepted and got the point difference refunded too.

We had booked a club level studio for 1 nt, and they called a few days prior to say they were already at capacity and if we were okay getting a savanna view room instead and still keeping club level access. We accepted and got the point difference refunded too.

I got one night’s points refunded, that was their “apology” for no laundry. It was fair, but that didn’t really change the fact that I was annoyed and grumpy. It’s one of our home resorts, and the reservation was made at the 11 month mark. That should count for something, but it doesn’t.

Now, I check the day before and see what resorts have rack rate cash rooms as an availability test, and make a mental list of what my preference would be if my booked room goes poof.
