Ticket Prices Going Up on Sunday!

So, I've mulled it over and crunched the numbers. I'm going to take the plunge and buy an annual pass. Here's my question: If I buy it online, the only shipping option is Will Call. But I don't need the pass until January 2013. If I buy it via phone, they will ship it to me for $5. Has anybody ever purchased Will Call tickets that far in advance? Is this a problem?

Does anyone know if you buy an annual pass from Disneys website if that is a voucher as well? I dont want to purchase it only to find out it became active as soon as I purchased it verses how the vouchers do not become active until you use it the first time.

Thanks !!

As long as it's a NEW (not renewal) Annual Pass, it's a voucher. It cannot be active when you buy it online because new passes must be activated in person.

The new AP prices are up on the DVC member link to Disney's ticket website. The new rates, before tax, are $425 for DVC APs and $559 for DVC Premium APs. Adult and child prices are the same. So, DVC members are now getting a $149/pass discount on APs and $140/pass discount on PAPs.

Prior to the price increase, DVC members got $100 off of the gate price for APs and $125 off of the gate price for PAPs

Last night I bit the bullet and ordered four 10 day hoppers + WP + No Exp from UT with the Mousesavers discount. These tickets will cover my family's next three trips (5 or 6 years). I thought about just getting the 10 day + No Exp tickets and adding hopping and WP for $79 at the gate, but Cheshire Figment posted something about a new bridging policy. He didn't know exactly how it will work yet, but mentioned the possibility of having to pay the price difference between old tickets and new tickets plus the cost of the upgrade when you upgraded. He'll know more on Wed. I didn't want to risk it so I got the tickets with all the options I needed last night.

I really wish I had had the money to buy these tickets before the price increase last June (2011). Would have saved me almost $200, but all our vacation money went to a Hawaii trip last summer.

This morning Undercover Tourist still has tickets for sale at the old price...get them while you can!

In early May, I bought 2-adult 6 day-hopper-no expiration and 1-child 3 day-hopper-no expiration from Maple Leaf Tickets at a cost of $1,209. I priced the same today on the WDW website and it came to over $1,600. Sure glad that I bought last month.

I love how they announce the ticket increase two days before...

We had to buy our APs tonight so we didn't have to pay the extra $100 total for both of us.

But that's what happens when they add new things I guess.

This is exactly the advance notice that's been given for the last few years. Look back on the TP&S board starting June 6 last year, and the first weekend in August the several years before that - going back to 2005, I think.

And it's actually not a "general public" announcement. Disney lets Travel Agents and authorized resellers know a couple of days before a price increase, and they share the news with us. According to Cheshire Figment, ticket CMs don't even officially know about price increases until they come to work one day and voila! New price sheets!

Today I purchased my tickets from Undercover Tourist. The price was the same as yesterday, (through Mousesaver link of course.) :thumbsup2 I was going to buy yesterday, but my DH didn't want me to buy them. This morning he changed his mind and I purchased them before he could change it again.;)

So for any of you late shoppers, like me, the old prices are still around. Not sure for how long.

I missed this announcement over the weekend and am trying to catch up. Can someone tell me if the undercover tourist prices still look like they have the old prices? We will purchase non-expiring tickets. It doesn't look like it to me, but need a second opinion. If they don't have the old ticket prices, then we can just wait til closer to our dates. Or another option would be to save our few days left on non-expiration and just get an expiring park hopper. I guess it depends if they are any old price tickets still available. Thanks a bunch!

From what I can see on the Mousesavers link, the price look like they are still at the pre-increase levels. I would imagine that they will continue to sell at the old prices until they exhaust their supply of old tickets.
