Ticket prices expected to go up Sunday

The increase in ticket price is pure speculation at this time. Anymore, everyone wants to be the first to release "breaking news" so a few sites have put it out there that ticket prices will be going up in August. People are assuming that because its increased the past two years in August, it will increase in August this year. And while it's a definite possibility, nothing is set in stone yet and this is pure speculation on their part and the only thing its done to this point is cause hysteria on message boards from people trying to figure out if/when to buy park tickets.

Historically, here's when they've raised the prices on tickets:

Nov 2000
Mar 2002
Jan 2003
Mar 2004
Jan 2005
Jun 2005
Jan 2006
Sep 2006
Sep 2007
Aug 2008
Aug 2009

Disney will usually have a press release and then the tickets likely go up a day or two later. Just keep your eyes peeled (I'm sure it will be reported here) for it and at that point, run out and buy your tickets.

Did I read correctly (somewhere) that there was a 2nd increase last year?

I am starting to doubt this “ticket increase” rumor.. I have not read anything yet, I can’t find anything about it on any Disneyland website…..

It is definitely still speculation at this point. Just remember that with the over-riding "merger" or consolidation of various park operations divisions between CA & FL in the past couple of years, more and more of these kinds of things are being rolled out together. So more than likely if the increase happens for one resort, it will happen for both resorts.

There never IS anything on their sites until just before it happens.

I had NO idea prices were going up while there in '07. We had tickets from a package, and 3 days into our trip we upgraded to APs. The NEXT day the prices were raised (NOT on a Sunday), with no advance notice (though it's possible there were rumors after I'd already left for our trip). Whew!

I'll be curious if they go up, since I am redeeming my GAD vouchers this Sunday. Hopefully it won't effect me but I doubt the single day tickets and PH will go up the same amount, so it'll likely cost a few bucks. :headache:

I would have ordered online but we own DVC, so I want my $20 discount. It's not much, but I can't be sure that the price will go up on the first. I'm just hoping that the PAP doesn't go up more than $20.

DVC members get $20 off the premium annual pass? And you have to purchase this onsite? Where, exactly?

Oh gosh, another question . . .

So, if I purchase a DL PAP and then decide at WDW to upgrade to the bi-coastal (what's that called again?) do I get credit for the regular price of the pass, or the price I paid for the pass?

I'm so difficult!

We have WDW AP's, but we bought them in December, so I don't think we can tie them in together. It seems that the finer details about the "combo pass" is difficult to figure out.

Anyone have a phone # to call about it?

When you upgrade, you pay the difference of what you want to have and what you already paid. So, you would pay the price of the Premier pass minus whatever you pay for your Premium pass.

I believe the expiration date would be the expiry date on your existing AP, but I would have to go back and read the details. You can find them on Disneyland.com.

You asked for a number. You could call the Parks. I don't know WDW's number, but DLR is 714-781-4000.

hehehehe! winner for BEST ANSWER!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl: :dance3:
Hehe, it's true, though. Happy to provide smiles! :)

Well for some reason I thought I'de wake up this AM and magically there would be an official announcement from Disney:wizard:

I personally am going to wait till buisness close time today and just bite the bullet and buy our tickets for December. I'm not a gambling person and either way the tickets will get used(since airfare and hotel are already paid for) so I'de rather be on the safe side;)

I guess will find out in the next few days:surfweb:

Me too. Keep checking to see if any announcement is made. My airfare is purchased. I just need to do it, painful as it is to the pocketbook. :)

FWIW: Mouseplanet is reporting that the price increase won't happen Sunday, but more likely Thursday Aug. 5. They expect a press release a day or 2 ahead of time.

I just got a call from Disneyland n the year 2014—they want there unbelievably expensive ticket prices back….RFLOL, :lmao: :lmao: ok well it sounded funny in my head... :rotfl2:

So I just checked - the Premium Annual Pass children's price is up to the Adult price - $439! Does that mean the Adult price will go up now too?
