Maybe nothing. As of this morning, Undercover Tourist hadn't raised their prices.
Now I am bumbed! How much did that being too busy to plan just cost me?![]()
Some have said that Disney will not do the exchange if the value of what you are exchanging is greater than what you are getting - even if you aren't asking for the difference back.![]()
I don't believe that's actually the case, and I'm willing to take my chances. I'm planning on exchanging them in 3 weeks for new DVC AP *vouchers* and if they won't exchange for a child voucher, I'll exchange it for an adult voucher that he can use the next year. But my hunch is that I won't have any trouble doing the upgrade.
Where have you read that? I suppose it technically makes sense, since it wouldn't be an upgrade if it's for a lower-value ticket.
Let's hope this isn't true or there's a lot of upset people stuck with tickets. We just bought the 6-day PH No Expiration, 2 adults and 1 child. Those new values before tax are:
Adult: $402 (verus new AP of $399)
Child: $379 (versus new AP of $362)
I sure hope I don't get stuck with those as non-transferrable. I guess we can upgrade to the PAP if that's the case, but we're not huge waterpark people.
Or, I guess we'll know the outcome by our trip in December and I can just exchange them prior to use foregoing any savings of the AP and have just "pre-paid" the cost of the AP. As people try to use these tickets valued higher than the AP I look forward to understanding what happens.
Here's the updgrade piece directly from the Disney Ticket FAQ:
It's a bit contradictory as it says "provided the new ticket is of equal or greater value than the old ticket" and goes on to say "no refunds will be issued if the new ticket is of lesser value."
So:
1) You can't upgrade to a lesser valued ticket
2) If you upgrade to a lesser valued ticket - no refund of difference

I don't understand why Disney wouldn't be willing to take something that is worth more but it's been reported as happening. Since you have up to 14 days from the first use to do the upgrade there's time to try a few CM's if the first follows #1 only!
Is it possible to buy a 7 day non-expiring ticket at AAA at the current lower prices then switch to a 10 day non-expiring when we get there in 10 days? Or do they just let you upgrade to APs?? I called my local AAA office and the prices are still lower than the prices on the previously posted link. I know most of the posters on this thread are getting APs but that won't work for us.
Where can I buy DVC AP's online today? We've bought after the price increase the last two times and I do NOT want to do that again.

yes they let you upgrade days.
I will be buying Disneyland Premium Annual Passes on 8/15 and called last week to find out where I can purchase these online using my DVC discount. The answer was: at Disneyland only. Since we only get $20 off, and the PAP went up $20 - it was a "wash". I will be royally ticked off if you could purchase these on-line!
When you use your GAD voucher to upgrade do they give you the $82.00 credit toward the higher ticket option that you're buying?
Just so I'm understanding....I would trade in our 7 day non-expiring passes for the 10 days non-exp. and would pay the difference in price between the the days and the difference in price between the non-expiring feature, right?
I also have the GAD vouchers....the way I understand it, I could then put the value of those toward the total $$ difference I owe on the upgrade?
You CANNOT combine the GAD vouchers and a previously purchased ticket to get an upgraded ticket. The ONLY way you can get the value of the GAD voucher toward another ticket is to use the GAD voucher to get a one-day ticket, and then upgrade that ticket. So DO NOT buy tickets in advance -- you won't be able to use them! Check out Cheshire Figment's thread on the GAD program -- he's the absolute authority on this.
Once all arrived, I went on a journey to Epcot guest relations to upgrade 10-day park hoppers given as a gift into DVC discounted annual passes. The hoppers were more expensive than APs. Sweet!! Even have a balance in a Disney gift card.
