Ticket Increase imminent

The Sentinel article said: the change will likely shift people visiting during mid-tier times into the quietest ones.

I guess I really wonder how true that is. How many people really will alter their vacation plans based on ticket pricing? People travel when they're able to travel. I would think that's particularly true for folks buying 1-day passes, since that includes a lot of people attending conferences in the area and adding on a Disney day, visiting family, etc. Will an extra $20/person really alter their plans? Or will Disney just rake in even more money as the crowds continue to be just as bad as they have been?

I agree, I can't imagine that $20 more could really change people's plans.
This is why I've never understood buying from places that offer $3 off per ticket. What a hassle for very little return

As always there are some, but I agree that most people just go when they can. For times like Christmas/New Years? Can't see those crowds changing unless the price is truly prohibitive or the cap capacity at a lower level.

To me, the park tickets aren't the main driver anyway (as opposed to say hotel and airline costs).

I don't see dividing up 1-day tickets into 3 seasons will shift the crowds in any way!! However, since Disney is giving that reason, it is very probable that they will announce a ticket change, in say Oct., emphasizing that the 1-day tiering didn't benefit the guest in crowds being evened-out, but the new multi-day tickets, based on seasons, WILL. Then the guest could enjoy a 5-day multi @ the
value price, during a Mon.-Fri. period in late Jan., for example. Sat. & Sun. would be @ regular price versus value, but a guest could buy a 2-day reg., or a 7-day reg. would benefit the guest with additional savings over buying an additional 2-day ticket for the weekends. The Survey calendar had most every weekend as silver, even with bronze weekdays! Disney can VERY easily implement tier-based multi-day Tix simply by requiring the guest's level to match that day's tier. So you overpay;profits increase!!

Tuesday's podcast is going to be interesting............always look forward to the teams thoughts on subjects like this :)

No they are not supposed to be going up right now but you never know with Disney.
I know there's no crystal ball pixiedust: but when do you think the AP increase will happen.......if not tomorrow?

That's what I was thinking but already saw a comment by someone who runs a Disney Facebook group I am a part of say this will impact the time of year they go so perhaps this will impact things more than we thought ... though I still think the bigger change will be when the roll this out to multi-day tickets
