So our last family trip was June 2018.
My DH and I are going for a quick weekend trip (3 day/night) in September and I have no clue (after 40 years of traveling to WDW) what kind of ticket would make sense to buy.
We are DVC (direct purchase) and FL residents.

We plan to return June 2020 with the kids for 5-6 days prior to a cruise.

I would sooo appreciate advice on what tickets to buy for September.

TIA!!!

3-day Florida Resident Theme Park tickets will cover the first trip, only. (About $200 each, plus tax.)

But, if you want to cover BOTH trips for the adults, you could buy Annual Passes.
(You could buy the APs splitting the cost into monthly payments.)

You qualify to buy Gold annual passes for $699. Double check, but The blackout dates shouldn’t interfere with your plans. It will probably be marginally cheaper than buying 2 sets of tickets, and comes with a variety of perks.

There are several Florida annual passes to pick from with a variety of blackout dates. We usually start with a regular florida resident ticket on the weekend and upgrade it to a weekday select ticket, the cheapest annual pass, during the week.

Once you start getting Silver or less, you won't be able to use it in June. The FL resident 3 or 4 day ticket ends the end of August, so you can't use that for your Sept trip. Unless they come up with a new FL Res pass in the next few days, you'll need to go with Gold. That blacks out during Easter and Christmas.

Since we have no plans to go back in between September and June. I believe we are going with the regular 3 day FL resident pass. Maybe something good will come up for June 2020 forward.
