Ticket from Attraction Tickets - photo id?

I know there are some UK folks on this forum, so wondering if any of you has recent experience to share. I purchased Universal tickets from Attraction Tickets in the UK, because they were offering a good deal on combined Universal + Disney tickets, adults for child's price. All seems ok, they've sent me a PDF that I can print and use as a direct-to-gate ticket (have also been able to scan those tickets and add them my Universal app). It does say on the PDF ticket that photo id is required.

Just curious what kind of photo id they will ask for at the gate? My children will be 17 at the time we travel, and do not have photo id apart from their passports. Will we be expected to produce passports at the gate? Or will they not ask for photo id?

Also, with these UK tickets, are they going to want some proof of UK-ness with the photo ID? We currently live in Canada, but my husband and kids are UK citizens, so I could bring their UK passports along on the trip. But if we need to show proof of UK residency, we really can't honestly do that as we no longer live there. (and so this might be a deal-breaker for these tickets - I did buy them with the fully-refundable option).

I was hoping these would work just like any other direct-to-gate ticket where we got our fingerprint scanned / photo taken the first time we used the tickets, and then scanned on subsequent visits. No photo id needed.

All Guests visiting from outside of the United States are required to present both a valid passport as well as another form of government-issued photo ID from their country of origin. Foreign driver’s licenses or ID cards are not acceptable by themselves.

So you have 3 options for photo ID to be accepted.
1) present your real passport
2) present a paper photocopy of your passport with another form of government ID ( example your driving license ).
3) present a photo of your passport on your phone with another form of government ID ( example your driving license ).

Evidence where I found this Mickey from UK website

I've heard attraction tickets send out physical tickets instead if vouchers so you might not need to visit the will call to collect the physical tickets and you need to link Disney tickets in my Disney experience and make park reservations. You can download My Disney Experience App and click on magicmobile and have it saved on Google or apple wallet and scan photo via NFC Bluetooth at turnstile or purchase a magicband and link tickets on magicband and tap your magicband at the turnstile.
Universal Orlando Resort tickets are print at home delivery option via PDF or Universal Orlando Resort app under wallet or collect at the will call.

Sorry I've just read now you are from Canada as you are travelling with UK residents in your traveling party you should be ok if you are visiting the parks with UK residents in your traveling party. It's if you are not a UK resident and you are not accompanied with a UK resident.

OP have you texted or emailed the seller with your concerns? Perhaps you could print out screen shot of their reply and show at the gate if you encounter any issues.

there are other posts on the boards wherein people have had their specific Q answered re eligibility etc.

I can't comment on the whether non-UK residents can use these tickets part of the conversation myself (as I'm from the UK) but as for needing photo ID to use tickets bought from Attraction Tickets, that line has been in their disclaimers for absolutely years and I've never been asked to provide ID at Universal - I've always just scanned the ticket and gone straight through the gate.

Now, I have always taken my photo ID anyway just in case, which is a pain because like your kids I only have a passport that would be accepted (don't have a UK driving license, although DW does) and knowing my luck probably the one time I don't will be the time they ask for one! But so far I'd say it was about 10-12 Universal visits with no requirement yet.

Thank you for your reply! This is kind of what I was expecting, especially after I read some more on the Universal website about taking fingerprints/photos the first time you visit. It sounds like they will only ask for ID if you refuse to take part in the biometric scanning. So you're probably right that the wording around providing photo ID is historical, it's probably still there for some legal reasons.

We are happy to do the biometric scanning, so I'm pretty sure that means we won't need to provide any sort of ID, according to Universal's page about privacy (which I found after I posted my question)
