Ticket from 1998

My mom is coming with us on our trip and has 3 days left on an old ticket from 1998. I used my ticket from the same trip two years ago and I know that we go to the window to exchange the ticket and that it can be used at any park. I can't remember, however, if we need to email and have the ticket verified ahead of time or can she just show up with it? Thanks!
