Hello...

This is a long post and I apologize.
I am at a loss as to what to do and I am hoping someone can help me.

Back in February we purchased our park hoppers through a third party seller. It is supposedly a reputable one and we actually got it by using touring plans ticket helper. I am not sure if I can use names here so I will not.

Anyway we purchased two 9 day park hoppers on one credit card for myself and my husband and two 10 day park hoppers on another card for my daughter and her boyfriend. Both cards were charged on February on the 12th. We received our confirmation numbers and I put the confirmations in the DME and our tickets we assigned and all was well.

On April 9, 2017 when I went to access my DME (I am the one who is planning for everyone in our group) and the two 10 day park hoppers were no longer seen. I called Disney DME help line and they said they could see the tickets and that they would create an IT ticket and once they retrieved the tickets they would email me and they would be back in the system. By April 11 still nothing was in so I called again and they said they were working on it. So a week later today..April 18 I called again and stayed on hold for an hour till the help line with DME basically said this was a ticketing issue as the ticket had been refunded to the seller. I was given the number to Disney's ticketing line and I called that. After another hour on phone I was told on March 8th the third party ticket agency requested a refund on the tickets and they were removed.

So we have paid $926 for two 10 day park hoppers. The card has been charged and there has been no refund of any money. I have all the credit card statements and the card has been charged and no refunds of any sort. I have Feb. March and April statements. We have paid almost $1000 and we have no tickets.

We live on the west coast and I just called when I was off work and of course their office (the third party) is closed.

To say I am upset is putting it mildly. I trusted this particular ticketing agency because of where I found out about them.

I am basically posting in hopes that someone has some advice as to how I should proceed. I don't know who to file a complaint with (other the the Better Business Bureau) and Disney itself.

I will try and speak again to the third party when they are open (8AM-6PM EST) but what is to stop them from doing this to my other tickets?

I literally have no idea what to do and I wish I had just bought everything through Disney. I am so disappointed and upset.

Call the CC agency and confirm that you are still within the allowable time frame to dispute the charges so you will have more information when you speak to the seller tomorrow. Keep us posted.

I am surprised Disney would refund tickets to the seller and not the owner of the DME account.

Call your credit card and give proof that the tickets were refunded to the seller. Here is hoping it is an honest mistake on behalf of the seller and that it will be sorted out once you actually speak with them.

You really have to wait and see what the ticket seller has to say.

Easier said then done lol...I am trying to just stay positive.. but... would you flag the charge on your credit card? This charge was done over 2 months ago and paid. I am just worried there is a limit on these things.

I wish i had something helpful to say. I hope the ticket seller are honest and helpful. Fingers crossed it all works out

Unless 1 more day puts you outside the time limit for filing, I'd wait and talk to the seller tomorrow.

I am too! I actually asked that when I spoke with them. The ticket was refunded nearly a month after put in to the DME. They said it is done...no other information really.

I just checked with our credit card online and how to handle disputes... Disney Chase btw and we are over the 60 days since the charge was made Feb. 12. I am sick to my stomach.

There would not be a "limit" in a case in which a CC holder (you) was charged (and payment made) and then a refund was fraudulently or accidentally
given to the other party without any input from (you) the CC holder.

This will all be ironed out, money-wise.

(If there were pre-booked FP+ involved, however, those may be a lost cause.)

I'm very sorry you're having to deal with this.

I'm wondering if you bought the tickets from an individual person rather than an entire agency. I could see a person doing this (which is why a lot of people have warnings for eBay and stuff like that) meaning selling you tickets then claiming fraud on their end or something like that and getting their money back. I've heard stuff like that happen on gift cards too.

I'm not sure as TP has 4 companies listed under their section for Where to Buy Disney World Tickets Cheap and I haven't personally heard what you are describing happening with any of those companies listed (doesn't mean it hasn't just that I haven't heard it happening). The other section talks about where to get discount tickets like AAA, military, YES, convention tickets, etc.

I'd be worried sick too but I think this may not be as dire a situation as you fear. I agree with @Robo that you will get the financial side of things resolved. Try to hang in there & please let us know how it goes. :earsboy:

Thankfully no FP+ were booked. The trip is in August.

I am hanging in there. I have gone from mad to upset to now on the phone with Disney crying lol. I am now trying to get them to tell me how a third party can access my My Disney Experience and get a return of money on the ticket 25 days after the ticket has been uploaded and purchased. A deposit with a travel agent I can see....

This all just seems really strange.

Again thank you... I can't tell you how much it helps to have someone to talk to that understands Disney stuff.

I would wait and talk to them before you do anything else.

I would recommend talking to someone at Chase instead of filing the dispute online. While there is a 60 day time limit for noticing a fraudulent (meaning you didn't authorize it in the first place) charge on your bill, what you are disputing is "goods not received/services not rendered" which is a totally different reason for disputing a charge. You placed an order for tickets to use on your August vacation, the third party supposedly sent them to you, but Disney is saying the ticket information provided to you is not valid for admission. So the third party should either replace the tickets or refund the charge. I did a quick Google for time limits to dispute cc transactions, and several sites said 120 days for this type of dispute, so you may still have time. You really need to talk to someone who knows to be sure everything is processed correctly.

I would contact the third party first, but make it clear that due to the time constraints you need an answer ASAP or you will be disputing the charge. Time is of the essence here, but some disputes require proof that you contacted the merchant to give them the opportunity to correct the problem. It should be pretty simple for them to check the ticket numbers they provided to you to see if they were refunded to them, whether it was deliberate or an accident. It's possible that it's a simple case of something going wrong with the original tickets due to a computer glitch, and the replacements just got missed and need to be brought to their attention so they can be re-issued.

I doubt if a third party had access to your MDE account. The tickets were probably cancelled or voided on a separate Disney network, so when you go into MDE to look at the tickets, and MDE tries to retrieve them from the separate network, it can't find them anymore. That would explain why Disney could see things that you could not see when you initially contacted them.

Don't give up!
