We currently have a package booked with deluxe dining. We bought 7 day Park Hoppers from ParkSavers with the intention of upgrading them to annual passes on our trip. I know I have read here several times that you no longer have to use the ticket first to "lock in" current gate price, however I also recall in the past that part of the reason for using the ticket first was because if you upgrade before using the ticket, you risked messing up your dining entitlements.

Can anyone confirm for me if this is true? It doesn't make a huge difference because we will be using our tickets on our arrival date anyway but we may have an opportunity to upgrade before we head to a park. I just wondered if we risk messing up our dining credits if we upgrade before we use our tickets. Thanks!

I don't see why there should be a problem since the dining plan isn't connected to your tickets, it's based on the number of nights of your stay.

I personally haven't read of the dining plan being messed up by an upgrade in years.
