Ticked off! Hannah Montana 3d glasses GONE at WalMart!

It will look funny. Here is a screenshot from the last time Disney did a 3D broadcast (ABC's TGIF in 1997):

But... but... but... that's how my picture ALWAYS looks! You mean if I had 3D glasses I could watch tv?

Joking about the second part, but completely serious about the first part - when the cable guy came with the digital tuner a few months ago, he wanted to make sure I knew the problem wasn't with the cable :teeth:

ETA: I apologize to you, and especially to npmommie, and to anyone else with whom I disagreed (but I still contend Medium was fine without the 3D glasses - but on the other hand, it WASN'T a Disney production).

Let me see if I have this right....Please confirm!!!

3. If they're just the temporary paper ones, I would think the 3D glasses DD has from her Barbie and the Magic of Pegasus-3D DVD would work....they have a red left eye and blue right eye. Can anyone confirm that?

THANKS!:thumbsup2

We are going to use the glasses that came with Barbie too and based on what I've seen, the Barbie ones should work.

Dex-MIL works at Wal-Mart...She said they got a heads up on Thursday last week that people have been taking them from the stores and selling them on e-bay. And were advised to hold them at the Customer Service desk for customers that ask for them. So, if you don't see them at the display check at the customer service desk.

Well, that was 11 years ago. Perhaps things have changed since then.

I saw the movie with DD, but I have monocular vision, so it was wasted on me. :3dglasses But DD said the entire movie wasn't in 3D, there were just occasional effects. Maybe most of the movie will look normal, and only the sporadic special effects will look odd without glasses?

I have a couple extras if anyone lives in New Jersey I'm sure that they'll get there by Sat.

We're having a few friends over for my Dad's 90th B'day party and my DDs are having friends later that evening for the show so I picked up about 10 and now I'm only going to need 8-7.

Our walmart has tons they are at the front door sitting on the display that has the school supplies list. It has a lip on at so I had to look and thier were tons of them.

We had to pay 50cents a pair!!!

Ours were up at the front cash and you had to ask for them. They were not out on display.

I hope everyone is able to get their glasses and enjoys the show. Dd and I will be watching it together and if I get a chance to go back to Wal-Mart before Saturday and if there is any left I will get her the new Miley CD.

I just watched Starz on Demand - How to make 3D glasses for the Hannah Montana Movie. It looks so much easier than trying to drive all over the place trying to see if my local Walmart has them (and they don't!).

Go to starz.com/3d - You can download and print the template and watch the video on how to make your own glasses.:3dglasses

I'm going to make a "party" out of making them with DD and her brothers on Sunday. They can each make their own glasses and not fight over who's is who's. I already have everything but the blue & red markers which I can pick up at my local dollar store and I won't be tempted to buy any more Hannah/Miley merchandise for DD. Now that's budget friendly:thumbsup2 .

We just happend to find them at our walmart on a school supply display of Hannah Montana stuff. As we checked out, our cashier also had a stack of them on the counter by her register. Our store had tons! Wish I had seen this sooner-I would have ran back and got a bunch for you! :( I had been looking for them myself ever since they first advertised the concert being on TV and the glasses being at walmart! What a fiasco just to find the silly things!

No, you will need the Red and Blue kind to see it normal.

They work using Stereoscopic ideology like a viewfinder toy.

The glasses used in the the movie theater version use RealD 3D.

Red and blue – or anaglyph – glasses were developed in the 1950s for black and white movies and have been used more recently with print media. Anaglyph glasses are not feasible for use in today’s full-color cinematic landscape. When worn for longer than a few minutes, anaglyph glasses cause eye strain and fatigue, making it difficult to watch a feature length presentation. REAL D Cinema systems play the highest quality 2-D and 3-D content using a single digital projector. The images projected onto a specially formulated silver movie screen are “decoded” by viewers wearing comfortable, lightweight REAL D Cinema glasses.

REAL D does not produce 3-D content.
REAL D focuses on the delivery of 3-D content to theaters so that audiences may enjoy incredible new entertainment experiences. Several movie directors like James Cameron, George Lucas, Robert Zemeckis, Steve Starkey, Robert Rodriguez and Peter Jackson are currently creating content in digital 3-D and expanding the 3-D filmmaking palette.

As humans, each eyeball sees a slightly different image, and the brain fuses these two separate images together to form a single image having depth. REAL D Cinema systems replicate the way a human eye perceives depth by discreetly delivering two separate images to each eye. Thats why it looks normal when you take the Read D glasses off in the theater. You simply can't see the effect.
