Tiaras and Tantrums 08-- The Farewell. . . Will YOU join us next year?

Background:

We met here on the DIS -- except for Kimmi and Mike, they met at birth. Phorse and Shuggie and I met last year for the 1st TnT. Kimmi and I actually met originally at WDW when we saw each others LGMH in the All Star Movies food court. We have stayed friends on the boards, and she came out out to visit in my area earlier this year.

Mrzrich and Kimmi met during WPASADI and have met up for a few days here at WDW also. I guess technically I met Mrzrich during WPASADI also, but didn't get to know her until she started to chat with us on the TnT thread.


Immediately after the meet last year we picked the dates for this year and began making plans. But the trip started to look like it may fall apart when both Shugardrawers and I ended up needing foot surgery for different things. Mine was the beginning of Sept and I was healed enough to make the trip, but still in a Cam Walker. Unfortunately Shugardrawers was not so lucky. She had broken her ankle and needed some major reconstructive surgery. The surgery was done 10 days before the trip and there was just no way she could make it--she cancelled her plane tickets the day before we all left. This was a definite bummer but we had to make the trip in her honor and knew her spirit would be with us.


Little did she know she would be sticking with us the entire trip. . .

No group can travel without their leader so Shugardrawers just HAD to go with us. But how? She can't walk--Dr said no weight on her foot for a few more weeks. She could get a scooter, but really she is just in too much pain still to make the trip. So it became apparent that alternate arrangements had to be made.

Thus we give you---- Flat Shuggie!

Shuggie packed up her luggage and was all ready to go to the airport:

Since she was not able to walk she got a wheelchair to help her get to the gate:

Shuggie and I were upgraded to First Class. Well, not really upgraded but they put those needing assistance up front so First Class it was. It was a full flight though and because the flight crew knew of Shuggie's Queen status she got a very special seat above all the other passengers and was able to recline the entire trip. They also kept the paparazzi away so there were no photos of her on the flight.

In Orlando, it was a quick trip to the Mears desk, a transfer to a Special Services van -- reserved for all incoming royalty-- and a drop off at the Dolphin hotel to begin the trip. Here she is checking in:

The other princesses had been in touch and were on their way from MK to the Dolphin to meet up. They arrived when check in was almost complete. It was a good thing to, since I had no idea what Mike's name was and needed it!

Shuggie got a huge hug from one of her favorite princesses:

For a bunch of directionally challenged gals, finding the rooms was a bit difficult but eventually we got there:

A quick lunch at Picabu and we all headed off to MGM--oh excuse me--Disney Studios.

And I am off to Downtown Disney right now for some shOOOOOOOOping so I will post more later.

Ahh, I love Flat Shuggie! I am so glad she was able to make the trip. Can hardly wait to see what adventures she has and how much trouble she gets into.

ETA, I hope you are ShOOOOOOOPing for some POST CARDS!!!!!!!!

OMG! You ladies are the best friends a Flat or Bumpy Queen Shuggie could ever ask for I've been laughing and crying. I'm so touched and honored you brought me along anyway. You have no idea how hard it was to cancel those flights and how crushed I was to do it. The really awful thing is today I really turned a corner and feel pretty good Wonder how much a ticket for tomorrow would be?

The Baroness Boozerunner, Grand Princess Royale, Countess of Renovationsburg & Princess Mike who needs a good title called me during Wishes last night and I listened to the music and booms of the fireworks. And The Baroness's adorably "wicked" ayckcyint beecwoz she's from Noow HEEMPsha weaah ehvrything is wyicked and she pawaaaaks heh cawaaaaaah in heh drIIIIveway while she eeeats LOWoBsta and CHYOWda

DIRT!!! We want dirt!! Because I still think I could get drunker, naughtier, flirtier, more innuendoey and get security called on me more without getting arrested.

All checked into the hotel and having had a bite to eat,

it was off to Disney Studios to see what kind of trouble, I mean fun-- we could have. We took the boat from the Dolphin:

The first thing that needed to be done was for all of the princesses to acquire the proper headwear. I was the only one with a tiara and that had to be fixed! The vote was unanimous and tiaras were found for all.

NOT these!

Just not sparkly enough

But THESE were!

We were not properly attired princesses and ready to hit the park. On our way out of the gift shop though Shuggie wanted to stop and watch these guys. Quite a funny show about doing a Wata Check (maybe they are from New Hampshire?).

They guys were eager to meet Queen Shug after the show.

Shuggie really wanted a balloon, but we were a bit worried that she would be carried away so we had to tell her no. Not something we usually do to the queen!

Actually we were a bit worried that this guy would be carried away by all those balloons!

Shuggie has never ridden on the new Toy Story Mania Ride (and neither had Kimmi, Mike or I) so that was our next stop.

Shuggie got her 3D glasses.

Shuggie is quite the flirt and made some new friends while waiting to ride.

They were nice enough to give her the gun with the button on the top, since it is really hard to pull that rope when you are flat. Much easier to just keep smacking that button on the top!

But Phors still kicked her paper butt. She is going to ride with her next time.
