I used the ruler feature on Google Earth and got a rough estimate of the distance that the THV (I used the center of the whole THV wooded area) are from the main SSR pool...

THV to the main pool: 0.55 miles
The Paddock blding 6101-6436 to the main pool: 0.33 miles
Congress Park blding 1101-1436 to the main pool: 0.35 miles
Congress Park blding 2101-2436 to the main pool: 0.25 miles

:thumbsup2 Someone posted that exact same number .55 miles on another thread.

Im no athlete, and I can walk a mile in 15 min so not bad at all.

Can you measure from the Carousel and Grandstand sections? Thank you!:teacher:

Are those "as the crow flies" straight measurements, or do they allow for meandering paths?
Also interested in the previous OP's questions -- from the farthest distance Grandstand bldg.

Also, will THV have a separate busstop? If not I wonder which one would be the closest to use and how far that walk would be? Thanks!!

there are 2 bus stops at THV according to MS. check in is at SSR carriage house. each THV will have at least one parking spot in front of your unit.

Exactly - this is why it always makes me laugh when I see people say it was too far to walk to the main pool from Congress Park. How do people survive at home if they can't walk for less than 10 minutes? And what do they do in the parks?? :confused3 And no, I'm not talking about people with any form of disability, or parents with small children. I'm taking about the "It was sooo far, we took the car to the bus stop" people.

Yes I'm one of them people
10 minutes to and 10 minutes back again just to get my refillable mug filled :scared1: used the car
not spending my holiday time wasting park time

Not a problem. If we are walking over to the main pool or area, we will be over there for a while anyway. Swimming, visiting Community Hall, Spa, etc. Everything is right there, no need to go any further than the main area.

15 min. each way is not a deal breaker. People will have similar walks from AKV to the main area.

At least the walking distances are a known quantity.

When you make a reservation at SSR, the reality is you could be right across the street in The Springs or they could put you more than 1/3 of a mile away in Congress Park or The Carousel.

Some treehouses are closer than others, but the entire area is fairly isolated. Folks need to go into it with their eyes wide open. It will NOT be a 2 minute walk to the main pool. I wouldn't want to be on the DDP with planned daily visits to Artist's Palette while staying in the THV.

IMO, THV guests should either have their own transportation or be prepared to deal with the delays inherent to walking or using the theme park bus service to get around.

we are staying in January and will have a car just for this reason....I don't think we will be using the pool much unless there is a heat wave. 10 minutes to walk somewhere really isn't a big deal unless you have a bunch of stuff and kids etc. For me, I am really looking forward to it and to be able to park right at the villa:thumbsup2

Depending on where you are at BCV, BWV or VWL you could walk 10 minutes to get to the main pools.:yay:
